PaylessPrint

PaylessPrint: PaylessPrint, a Minneapolis Printing company, is getting optimized for search engines. Not only did I design and program the web site, I’m also helping them get optimized for search engines. Only time will tell so stay tuned to see how well the search engine optimization works.

Center with CSS

Center with CSS: I have posted a quick and small tutorial about how to center something with CSS over at the SkyZone site.

Print Javascript

Print Javascript: javascript:window.print() Should work fine on Mac or PC

Electric SUV and Camino

Electric SUV & Camino: Two bits of news this afternoon. First it seems like Ford will finally be making a hybrid SUV. About time. Come on car companies, we need more, better looking, hybrid cars. Also I figured out how to add some CSS ad blocking to the Camino web browser. Now as soon as they get spell checking, I may have to browse with that a little more.

Outback

Home: Well another weekend is in the past. And it was a pretty good weekend too. We went back home over the weekend and took my parents out to Outback for dinner on Friday night. I had some goooood shrimp! I also found out that it hasn’t stopped raining down there in a while. They had had about two inches of rain that week it rained a few more while we were there. Last time we were home they were worried about the opposite! Saturday we went for a walk around Silver Lake in Rochester and then ran a few errands. And for dinner we ate at TGI Fridays and I had my first ever Long Island Ice Tea. And it was even an Ultimate! I was a little worried as I always hear bad things about them but it was good and I didn’t get to drunk off of it. Then, in the evening, we made home made ice cream. Mmmm. Then Sunday we came back to the cities and found out a squirrel, or something, attacked our bag of potting soil on our balcony and ripped it to shreds. Small mess but we got it cleaned up.

Stupid MSNBot

Stupid MSNBot: Yet another reason for me to dislike Microsoft. Their MSNBot hit my little site 68443 times using 3.06 GB worth of my bandwidth! That’s absurd. Googlebot only hit me 2373 using 121 MB of bandwidth. Microsoft can’t even get their own software to work right on their own systems. The worst part is that my web host only allows me 5 GB of bandwidth a month and the MSNBot took over half! I almost had to pay for more bandwidth, but, since my web host is so awesome, they decided not to charge me for MSN’s error. Hopefully this won’t happen again. Oh and if you want to know who my great web host is, it’s ICDSoft.

Weekend Away

Weekend Away: Well we’ll be back home to the Chatfield / Wykoff (down by Rochester) area again over the weekend. We have another meeting with the Pastor, are taking my parents out for dinner and just getting out of the city in general!!

Keston and Westdal

Keston & Westdal: It sounds like my friend’s band is really starting to ramp up. Keston and Westdal are going out on a three week tour of the US and even Canada. They also got a record deal with Coup de Grace records. I wish them the best of luck!!

iTunes Shopping

iTunes Shopping: Christi got ahold of iTunes the other night and we went on an iTunes shopping spree. We bought 10 songs including Jet, Yellowcard, Coldplay, Los Lonely Boys, Jessica Simpson, The Vines and more. iTunes is just so convent and easy.

XML Portfolio

XML Portfolio: The XML version of my portfolio got a huge advancement as I am now able to display it nicely. I was using XSL to format my text, however the web browser Safari would not properly display it. Actually it was quite a mess. So I just used CSS to display everything. It looks pretty good on all web browsers now (main web browsers), however only the links are clickable in Safari. Go figure. Next week maybe I’ll read up on it more so I can make it better for all. And maybe I can figure out how to display images. A special thanks goes out to Brian for his help, and for letting me borrow his book next week.
