Rodeo Changes To Rush Nighclub
The Rodeo Nightclub in Cottage Grove Minnesota (MN) has changed to The Rush Nightclub. I think they are trying to let people know they are not just a country club. I also think the name change is a little stupid, but it’s their company. They also have a new site up and it’s as horrible as ever. Ok so it’s probably better than the last one but it’s still lacking. We haven’t been to the nightclub in a while but hope they kept the place basically the same as it use to be fun!

The Rush night club isn’t as fun as the Rodeo Night CLub was. Taking away alot of country music pushed dancers to find other dance floors. Instead of changing the wall looks they should have invested in new chairs and keeping the dance floor
clean. Thank goodness they fixed the air conditioning; before the end of the summer would have been better though.
At least it’s still a good place to go dancing even if you don’t have a partner. Someone there will partner up with you
and can dance.

The Rush just sucks now. PERIOD!!!!! Except for TJ who always ROCKS!!!!! Turning an adult place to go into “Romper Room” was bad enough but to take away country?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Flat out shameful!

Wish I knew where to find some more country bars in the Minneapolis / St Paul area! I’m going to be hitting up The Rush on a Wednesday night as that’s their K102 Ladies night and it looks like the only night anymore where they have any country. The only other place I’ve really heard about is the Hoggsbreath, which is a blast on Monday nights as that’s their Country “Rowdy Cowboy” show. The only problem is that sometimes they start playing a couple R&B songs.. which is just bloody blasphemous when the night is a freaking cowboy and country night. I hope to catch a few more country western bars in the area.. there *has* to be something out here for us country peeps!

Any true country dancer knows country is dead at the “Rush”. Especially when they fired DJ Pete. They blew it, they had a market niche and blew it away to the teenie boopers. There are other places to dance country, we found them over the last year and a half as the manager continued to drag the place down and push us country folk out. She succeeded to push us out but she didn’t realize we would find other places… and not come back… she didn’t ruin it for us. Try Robert’s Off 10, Povlitski’s, S.St. Paul VFW is picking up more good bands. Follow Killer Hayseeds and High Noons websites. Dance floors are smaller but just as fun and your closer to the band members to get to know them.

We are having visitors from Germany. The one couple is 55 and 60 years old. They are interested in going to a country western bar. Any ideas? Looking at a place where dancing is available. They arrive on Thursday, June 29th and will be around the Twin Cities over the fourth of July. Then, travelling after July 7th out of MN. Thanks for any suggestions.

Okay so this club is awful…they have the nastiness go go dancers who are not at all attractive. They can’t dance! They would do better just stading there! Then there general staff from the time you walk in the door is not personable at all. You should have cute, attractive people working at a club not all fat, overweight people. I like to go there once in awhile but ever since the “changes” it has gotten to be a pool of STD’s. The bathrooms are disgusting and what is with the nasty wood floors that are so sticky. The employees make the place awful…especially the go go dancers cause they are not cute. The appearance of that place is now untolerable and I won’t be visiting anymore. Plus it’s never busy anymore the last few times going there. Good Luck with that club!

Man I was just thinking about having my bachelorette party there! The only reason I wanted to go was for line dancing! I used to go there all the time about 3 years ago when it was Rodeo and in the stages of turning it into Rush! I saw the changes right away but I figured they would change back with all the complaning! I dont think every club in MN should be 96.3 style music, we live in MN not CA!
