Taking a break.

TwisterMc.com is taking a small break to work out a few site issues. Hopefully, everything will be back up and running in less than a week. Until the, it’ll be oftly quiet around here.

Site Issues - Site Moving

My host had their second issue in a week and this time it was damaging to me. Everything that has happened on my site since 2/17/05 has been lost. All blog posts, all emails, all site edits. Needless to say I’m looking into getting a new host as I’m not very happy. Sorry ICDSoft, you’re not cutting it anymore. I have been able to retrieve most of the blog posts thanks to Google’s Cache, however I won’t get around to re-posting them for a while. All other changes and emails are gone. :(

Inernet Explorer 7. Fix more than security please.

When I heard the news about the upgrade to Internet Explorer I first laughed. Microsoft had no plans on releasing a stand alone version until now. The only reason they are updating is because of security issues and maybe some Firefox envy. Since this is a number upgrade, I’ve been thinking about it and hoping that Microsoft does more than patch security holes.

Now I don’t hate IE because of who it is, I hate IE because of how it renders pages. Internet Explorer has a tendency to do a half assed job of rendering code correctly, so people then code half assed. That’s not a good trend. A browser and a developer need to adhere to the W3C standards and code correctly.

iPods updated yet again!

Apple just keeps rolling out the iPod updates. Today they revealed a new 6gig iPod mini and lowered the price on the 4gig iPod mini to just $199. They also introduced a 30gig iPod photo for just $349 and they dropped the 60gig to just $449. This is good news as I sometimes wonder how long my current iPod will last. But until that time comes, I’ll keep watching the iPod updates. :D

6 Months

It’s amazing to think that six months today we got married. :)

Google Weather Maps

As I sit here and check out Google Maps I can’t help but think how cool this would be if they added the weather. It’d be the nicest weather map on the internet and could help you track storms right to your front door! I emailed Google and told them that, however I think it’s a long shot. :D

Also, if this is the first time you’ve heard of Google Maps, you should check it out. It has a great zoom feature, driving directions and all maps are dragable so you can see what’s just off the side of the map. Pretty sweet.

Large Companies and their Websites

I was searching around the other day looking at larger companies websites and I have to say I was quite disappointed at what I saw. Quite a few major sites don’t care about what’s outside their main web design. And to me, that’s just plain laziness and it detracts from the quality of their site.

New Flash Based Netscape.com

They launched a new netscape.com and it’s almost all in Flash! It’s amazing that such a large company would use a format that wasn’t as search engine friendly as HTML. At the same time, it’s good that someone is showcasing what Flash can do. It’s not all about moving things around the screen. What they didn’t launch is the new Netscape 8.0. I’m eagerly awaiting the download and I’ll be looking every day. :D

Mall of AmericaThe money behind the Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington Minnesota unveiled what they hope to be phase 2 of the mall. If created, the MOA would be the largest mall in the world. Not only do they want you to come for a few days, but how about a few weeks?!

Where are the posts?

Are you wondering where the posts are? Well, believe it or not, I’ve been to busy to blog. OMG! There are lots of things on my list to blog about, however the posts just haven’t been made. Keep checking back though, I’ll get some better posts up soon. Hopefully. ;)
