WordPress 1.5 is now out and I’ve been playing around with it all day on another site. There is a much nicer default theme and some other nice advancements along with a few things that just don’t look right. This blog will be upgrading in the next week or so and I’m not sure what to expect as I’ve never upgraded WP before. I may revert to the default theme for a bit while I see if my theme works or if it needs to be re-done. Either way, blog updates and changes are coming soon.

Happy Valentines Day goes out to all. It’s not about presents and candy, it’s about showing someone you care about them. Now tomorrow it’s all about candy. All 1/2 price at the store! Whoo Hooo!

Ahh the wonderful Minnesota weather. I do love it. Yesterday I was talking about 50 degrees and guess what, now it’s snowing and we could get 1-3 inches. Fun Fun

So what’s up with this weather? No snow and temps in the 50s?! Come on. Here it’s only February 12th and we have no snow on the ground and temps warm enough to wear shorts in. This has to be one the saddest Minnesota winters ever. So far I think our snow total is up to 8 inches for the season. 8 inches!! This is not good for someone who likes the seasons and is very much missing the snow. I do think we’ll get a snow storm or two before the season is over, but it won’t last long when it does come. Our temperature roller coaster is in full swing and before we know it it’ll be 20 again, then 60.

The first ever hotel to open in Vegas without a casino will be the Majestic. The $350 million resort will have 378 five-star suites from Conrad Hotels on the bottom and 286 luxury condos by Majestic Resorts on the top 30 floors. It will be located behind the new Wynn Las Vegas and should open in December of 2006. News from Screamscape.

So I’ve been hearing about the Wisconsin quarter issue and how some are worth big bucks. So I looked it up on the internet and came across this forum thread and found something interesting. The quarter I picked up off our dresser has no up or down leaf. Is that normal? What am I missing or do I have yet another version? Start bidding! Ha ha I tried taking a picture but my batteries are dead so I can’t show you now, but, if you’re interested, let me know and I’ll get a pict.

Say hello to the newest iPod fan, the Lego man. Tomi, an artist, has created this cool little dude and has already sold out of the 300 he designed. Keep in mind this is not a toy, it’s a piece of artwork. The Lego guy is the same size as a regular Lego guy and he comes with an iPod in hand along with those signature white ear buds. You can see more information about PodBrix at the official site, however getting your hands on one of these little men will be very difficult.

Every day someone comes along with a new site that helps you do something new. Well lately I’ve found a few sites that I like and find useful so I thought I’d share.

Technorati - Mainly blog posts, this site has the most up to date information available. Search for something that was on TV 10 minutes ago and you might find information on it. It’s really useful and fun. They also are tagging the web so that you can find information on certain topics easier than a regular search engine.

Well the Superbowl has come and gone and it was a pretty good game. It also had some great commercials that were, compared to the past few years, up to Superbowl standards. Here is a breakdown of some of my thoughts. You can view most of these commercials online at ifilm.com plus banned Superbowl commercials too.

It seems that whenever I find an anti-spam technique someone gets around it. I just need to figure out how they are doing it then I can stop it. So first off, I’ve added more spam words to the list. This means that if your comment comes with a spam word it in it won’t get posted until I say so. I’ve also added a new feature! For anyone who comments, there is now a checkbox to verify that you are not a spam bot. Simple to implement and simple to use. Hopefully this helps.
