The New WCCO Web Design

News and media websites have a tendency to look rather crowded and cluttered. Coming across a nice design just doesn’t happen that often. Until now. The new TV website got an overhaul recently and it’s a media website done right!

The design is simple and clean. Making the site easy to navigate and a pleasure to look at. There is more text than images which makes it load faster and easier to read. But the feature I like most is the video. All the video on the site is done with Flash which means it works on any machine that has the Flash plug-in; which most do. The quality is amazing, it’s fast loading and it’s video done right. No requirements based on your browser or OS, just video that works.

Will Firefox ever be Aquafied?

The team keeps saying ‘it is coming’ and it never does. I’ve been seeing more and more reviews lately and they all include how wonderful it looks. How it fits right in with the Mac environment. Well what about Firefox?

Granted, I don’t think Firefox is ugly by any means, however I wish it did use aqua checkboxes and drop downs and other Apple friendly graphics. An interface that was sleek like Camino would be excellent also.

Upgraded iPods

Along with the update, Apple has also released upgraded . Now 20 and 60 gig iPods come with a color screen! Not a huge upgrade, but it seems like U2 an Mini are the only iPods with black and white screens anymore.

Jodi Huisentruit Still Missing

It’s been 10 years since went missing. She was the morning and noon news anchor at , the CBS station in Mason City, Iowa, and I use to watch her almost every day. Then, one morning on her way to work, she disappeared. Every theory and every lead over the years have gone no where, but hope still does remain. Yes, the odds are very slim that she’ll be found alive, but there is always the possibility.

If you know anything, major or minor, about the Jodi Huisentruit case, please contact the Mason City Police Department at 515-421-3636 or the Missing Person Information Clearinghouse - Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation at 1-800-346-5507.

George Strait Won’t Go Away

If you know anything about country music, you probably know of a guy named . He’s one if the biggest country stars and it’s not your normal kind of success. He releases album after album, single after single without making much noise. I hardly even notice his songs on the radio anymore because they don’t stand out. Then, when you’re not looking, he comes out with a single that is just amazing and you remember why he is the country star he is.

Help? Switch to Entourage?

Microsoft Entourage Call it a lap in judgment, or the curiosity that is eating me up, but I like trying new things and I’m considering trying *! This is big because I’m not a fan. But Entourage is looking kinda nice. With mail, address book, calendar, appointments and notes all in one convent application, it’s just enticing me. I don’t know if I can hold out much longer. What should I do? What do you use on a Mac for an email client? Mail is nice, but not integrated as well into iCal and Address book. is nice, however the design is a little rough around the edges. Maybe Thunderbird 2 will be nicer.

How Could This Happen To Me?

icon (How Could This Happen To Me?) is the latest single from a band called . I’ve had the CD for a while now, however I went to their site today and watched the . It’s great to see such a popular band portray such a serious topic in their video. It’s all about drinking and driving and shows that you’re not only hurting someone else but also the entire family. Check out the video and please, don’t drink and drive.
