Intel and Apple - Who Cares?

Ok, so everyone cares, however most are making to big of a deal about it. In reality, consumers don’t have anything to worry about.

Apple will be switching to processors in about a year and it is a big change. Big for Apple. However they are commented to it and have already created a program to allow developers to easily port their applications over. The biggest changes will happen with Apple and the developers, not the general public.

My Apologies to MacBytes Visitors

How embarrassing. I got a link on a very popular Mac site, , and my referrer spam plugin blocked visitors form that site! I didn’t notice until this morning and I unblocked them ASAP. However, I’m afraid I may have turned some away without knowing it. I’m so sorry.

Rain, Wind and Garbage [updated]

Big storms rolled though early this morning and brought with them a lot of excitement. The power flickered, we had pea sized hail, very strong winds and heavy rain. It rained so hard it was hard to see the neighbors house. Course we were worried about our garbage as it was on the curb for pickup and it moved. It seems that the water was moving so fast down the side of the streets that it picked up and turned over our garbage and recycling canisters. It also moved about five bags of grass clippings own next to, and under, the neighbors car.

Macs with Intel processors by 2006-7!

OMG it’s true. The is offering live keynote coverage today and Apple is switching to !!!

“This has been going on for the last five years.” Every release of OS X has been compiled and run on Intel processors.

Steve Jobs is even running an Intel Mac!!!

New Apple Switcher

I was in with my father in law the other day when I pointed out the . He was very impressed with it and bought one for his wife for her birthday. Now I am Mac support for a few more people and I love it.

Over the weekend I upgraded the OS to , added print drivers for their printer and fiddled with the setting a little. Also added a few games and freeware/shareware applications that they might want/need.

Labels for Apple’s Mail Application

Labels in Mail have been something I’ve been missing ever since changing over to Apple’s Mail.app. However, I’ve found out how to create a script that allows me to set the color of (or label) a message.

Apple Mail Labels

I’ve tested my scripts in Mac 10.3 Panther and 10.4 and it works great. I prefer how Apple has scripts set up in 10.3 a little better, however it works.

I wanna talk about me!

I wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I, wanna talk about #1 on… Opps. Sorry. Toby Keith got stuck in my head. ;)

Just wanted to put a few ME updates out there. Things I haven’t blogged about yet and probably don’t interest many people.

First off, I own my car! Took about five years, but I own a 2000 Ford Focus. It was really exciting to pay it off and not have to worry about that payment anymore. However after five years things break. I’ve had enough car fix ups in the past month or two that I’m good for a while. Or so I hope.

Dark Side Switch Ad

Anakin Skywalker (from ) has made his very first Switch commercial. It describes why he switched to the Dark Site. This is a funny parody of the Apple Switch ads that ran a while back.

Do you know what box…?

The joy of moving. We had a great move and a big thank you goes out to our family and friends who helped us. Now we have a sea of boxes and they are slowly going away. Most things have been unpacked and our house looks great! The office area is still un-packed though. I have to buy a desk first, then we’ll see what happens. Any suggestions?
