CSS Hover Tip

If you ever have issues with CSS and your a:hover doesn’t seem to be working I may have the fix. You have to put your a:link information before your a:hover info.

This works:

.toprightmenu a:link, .toprightmenu a:visited {
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 10px;
color: #999999;
}

.toprightmenu a:hover, .toprightmenu a:visited:hover {
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;
color: #003366;
}

This doesn’t:

.toprightmenu a:hover, .toprightmenu a:visited:hover {
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;
color: #003366;
}

.toprightmenu a:link, .toprightmenu a:visited {
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 10px;
color: #999999;
}

Google & MSN Flash Earth

I can see my parents house from here! :o

With each search engine trying to out do each other they are creating great products. But leave it to the users to make them even better. For example, .

Flash Earth takes information from Google & MSN satellite maps and allows the user to smoothly zoom in and out, switch map services and waste a lot of time. It’s quite fun to play with!

Here is one tip to keep in mind. If you are looking for a specific place on the map, use the MSN with labels first, then switch back to the Google on if you wish. Labels make it much easier to find areas.

Where is Carmen Sandiego

That illusive lady from when I was a kit is still on the loose. Carmen Sandiego is still running ramped somewhere.

A better question than where is the world (or US, time, universe) is Carmen Sandiego is what did Carmen Sandiego do? Why am I chasing her? Who tricked me into spending so much time learning when I was a kid?

What sparked these questions was a trip to the used game store where we found a Carmen Sandiego game for GameCube (Playstation and Xbox also available). Sadly, the game has been updated and now you are some ninja fighting robots and the whole clue / destination idea from the original game isn’t there. Or not that I’ve found so far.

Year Old Wedding Cake

So who decided to save the wedding cake top and eat it a year later? Well we did and it was not so tasty. Fun time trying it though and at lest someone enjoyed it!

Chunk eating our wedding cake.

One Year

One year ago today we were married. Amazing how fast a year goes by. In the past year I’ve changed jobs, we go to a house and a new kitten. Ahh the memories, now where is the wedding cake? :D

Sin City is Stupid

We watched night and were very disappointed. Christi and I were both really excited to see it. Sure it looked cool, but the movie sucked. We were not impressed at all. Just a bunch of people violently killing other people and smoking. I didn’t get it. Very big let down. Glad I didn’t see it in the movie theater.

Flock - Social Web Browsing?

Now I read the blurb about the other day. Seems like it’s supposed to be a social web browser. You connect with family and friends and share you experience. Then again, I read that it’s more of a blog thing? I’m not sure.

Sounds cool, whatever it is. Social blogging rss browser thing based on Firefox. Yea that’s it.

From the website:

We’re introducing the world’s most innovative social browsing experience. We call it the two-way web.

(If you know what this is all about, tell me.) :)

My iPod has new features!

Not sure when they showed up, but my has some new features.

On my way to San Jose I realized that under the Settings menu there is a Main Menu area where I can turn on or off what options show on the main menu and what options don’t. This is fun because my iPod is older so it doesn’t get many feature updates.

Very Cool :D

Oh and if anyone wants a you should sign up. I only need one more person.
