CoverFlow - Interactive Cover Art App

CoverFlow Application

Thanks to All Forces for pointing out a great little application called . It works with iTunes to organize a searchable database of your music’s covers. It’s fun to play with and looks great. Even complete with smooth movement and other nifty little effects. It’s still in development but it’s a free download to check out and waste lots of time with. :D

Best Practical iPod Accessory

Have you heard of the ? It’s quite possibly the best iPod accessory that is also very practical and reasonably priced.

For just $30 you get a cassette adapter that listens to your radio and tells the iPod what to do! You can control the volume and playback of the iPod.

Use the cassette deck’s forward and rewind buttons to advance to the next or prior songs in the iPod playlist. Pause and stop buttons do what pause and stop buttons are expected to do. Hit the cassette deck’s Eject button or switch from Cassette to Radio, and Griffin’s SmartPlay technology automatically pauses the iPod.

New iPod First Thoughts

Well I’ve had Chester, my new iPod, for over a week now and I haven’t gotten to play with him much. My old iPod is working just fine and my new iTrip hasn’t arrived just yet. However, here are my current issues with the iPod.

First, Apple cuts costs by packing the iPod with a USB 2 cable and that’s it. No Firewire. That’s not a bad idea except that my Powerbook doesn’t have USB 2! So I had to go to the store and pick up a new iPod to Firewire Cord.

I hate plumbing.

Yep it’s true. A quick replacement of the drain has turned into a replacement of much more. However that’s all fine and good and almost done! Just a small leak left and I have no idea how to stop it. It’s down on that U thing as it’s going up and joining to the next pipe. That’s plumber talk there. ;)

I guess it’s off to the next hardware store to see what kind of suggestions they have. I already put in a new rubber washer thing so I don’t know what’s wrong. Oh and it’s supposed to be hand tightened and that didn’t work. Neither did tighter or looser. So I don’t think that’s the issue. Must be the rubber washer.

Chilly Willie

Well it sure was chilly this morning. I believe there was scattered frost and it was like 60 in the house. That doesn’t sound cold but it is. Outside was like 35. Now I’m a fan of fall, but it’s still cold. Our first night in the 30s in months. Soon it’ll be October and the leaves will fall along with a few snow flakes. Kinda nice actually. :)

Tub Drain 19. Me 1.

Well I’ve been trying and trying to remove the drain from our bath tub as I need to put in a better one that works without using pliers. It took me quite a few tries (days) but I got it out tonight! They made no tool to get the drain out so I improvised with a poor metal ruler. I say poor because now it’s bent really bad. But it got the job done and that’s what counts.

Google Video Goes Flash

Finally, has gone Flash!

No more downloading the Google Video player (PC only) or worrying about the video being in windows media format, or avi, or mpg, or real or whatever. Now it should all be in Flash and it should just work.

Granted the downside is that the quality is probably less however you can then just go to the source web page and get better quality.

Also, for a limited time only you can watch the entire first episode of Everybody Hates Chris for free! That’s some good marketing there. ;)

Hello Chester - My new iPod

I was all excited the other day when it arrived. My new iPod. 20 gigs, full color screen and best of all it was free!

My Free iPod
I think I’ll call him Chester.
I did one of those free iPod deals after researching it to make sure I wasn’t going to get screwed over. And it worked!

OMG It’s True! Free iPods!

I’m sure you’ve heard about the free iPods offer on many sites. They claim that if you sign up for one offer, then get five referrers to do the same, they’ll send you a free iPod. Sounds to good to be true but it’s not. I received my 20 gig, color iPod!! Many more details to follow in the up-coming days. Now I’m helping a friend get a free iPod nano. :)

Charamel Best Firefox & Thunderbird Theme

I try and check out all the themes for Firefox and Thunderbird that I can, however only one has ever really impressed me. That theme is Charamel.

Charamel Firefox and Thunderbird Theme

This theme has had a lot of work put into it and it’s absolutely beautiful. Everything works together and it’s a joy to use. There are even elements in Thunderbird that appear as if their overlapping other parts of the design and it’s great. Not only is this very sweet eye candy, it’s also been designed to work better than the original theme I believe.
