Nvu I want to use you.

WYSIWYG HTML Editor is yet another spawn of the family. This time, non-Mozilla employees ripped out Composer, the HTML editor that can be found in the . They then re-worked it into a stand alone application called Nvu.

Now I was all excited to hear about this project. How could it be bad? Well I’ve been using Nvu 1.0 for a while now and I have to say I’m disappointed. Maybe I was expecting to much or something, but it’s not as great as I hoped.

FBI Porn Squad

Oh it’s real. And I’m not sure what to think about it. Just imagine telling your mom.

You: Mom I work for the FBI!
Mom: What do you do?
You: I look for porn.
Mom: What?!
You: I work for the anti-obscenity squad and our job is to find porn and stop people from… um…. doing it. I mean creating it… I mean…

The FBI is joining the Bush administration’s War on Porn. And it’s looking for a few good agents.

Justilien : Linking Expert

Monkey and KeyboardNow linking is not monkey work. You can’t just do it and be successful. To bad too, because that’d make me a lot happier. And maybe I could get a monkey! ;)

Nope, it’s an art really. Figuring out how politely convince other sites to link to yours, in the correct way, for the right price takes lots of time and effort. Unless your Justilien.

I met Justilien at Search Engine Strategies in California and have been keeping in contact with him ever since. He’s supposed to be telling me his secrets but that’s not happening. However he does have a Website Marketing Strategies blog up now that may give out a few tips here and there.

Six Flags New Orleans

Here are some impressive pictures of Six Flags New Orleans under water.

Six Flags NO

Check out all the pictures here.

Camino’s cool, but…

I downloaded the latest release of yesterday by accident. (I clicked on a link and it started downloading.) Anyways, it’s a sweet little browser. Light weight, fast, looks great and all around nice to use. However, without spell check, it hardly gets used on my computer.

The developers know that spell check is wanted, along with an RSS reader, but spell check isn’t coming anytime soon. Until then, it’ll just be a browser for surfing every now and then. It’ll never be my primary browser without spell check. :(

Microsoft Office 12 - Forget What You Know

Some details are emerging about Microsoft Office 12. It appears to have a whole new interface that will take everything you know about Office and throw it out he window. The windows are now a gray metal look and it uses a type of tab system instead of the menubar/toolbar interface. Basically, it looks like you’ll need to re-learn how the program works.

Microsoft Office 12

This isn’t Microsoft’s brightest idea now is it? How many people use Word or Excel and aren’t exactly technically savvy? I think figuring out a new program is to much to ask of most of the Microsoft Office users. Plus, if companies upgrade, they’ll probably have to do training to re-teach how the new Office programs work. Sounds extreme, but it could be the truth!

Who’ll Stop The Rain - Garth Brooks

Imagine my surprise to hear Garth Brooks sing a song on the Katrina TV special. Garth is out of the spotlight and has been for years. However, he popped up to help raise money for the hurricane survivors.

Not sure if the song will be officially released or not but it can already be found out there on the net. I downloaded a copy for my iPod already and I’m excited to have a new Garth song!

iPod nano Mini Review

We stopped by the Mall of America today and I had to go into the Apple store. The iPod nano was on my must see list. My impression? It was amazing!

It was tiny, fast, beautiful and I didn’t want to put it down. This little device is speedy, full of features and an amazing little device. I briefly compared it to a regular iPod and tested how fast it loaded pictures. The nano seemed to out perform the regular iPod. However the regular iPod does have a bigger screen and a little more to hang on to. Plus they can hold much more. Either way, the black iPod nano is very good looking and it will be a big seller.

I want to win an iPod nano please.

[Update] I didn’t win. Oh well, it was fun playing. However you can now get a free iPod nano. Takes a little work and patients, but it can really happen!

The Unofficial Apple Weblog is running a contest. Simply post your 10 favorite stories and you’re entered. Sweet! I’m posting stories that are recent as I don’t remember what was posted in March. Here are ones that stood out to me.
