Happy Halloween!!
Check out this year’s batch of cool looking pumpkins. Complete with their own iPod that was carved (scraped) into a pumpkin. Pretty cool!

Since I always try to remember what this PHP code is, and I can never remember, I thought I’d add it to my blog so I never forget.
This searches a string of text and finds a user defined variable. Very handy.
$string = "PHP";
$container = "I love writing PHP code.";
if(strstr($container,$string)) {
echo "found it.";
} else {
echo "not found.";
}
Earthlink is now supporting Firefox by putting out a theme and some tools. Now, if you don’t have Earthlink service, you might find the tools un-necessary., however, you can still install the Earthlink Firefox theme. I’m currently running it and it’s not to bad. Plus the tabs are a nice orange color for Halloween! Yes, you do get the little Earthlink icon, but all in all, it’s quite a nice theme.
The only problem I see is the scroll bars are screwed up on the Mac. But that’s an issue with a lot of Firefox themes and one that I think will be fixed in Firefox 1.5.

I was able to attend the MIMA Summit today and it was a great event. It covered search engine optimization, web design, email marketing, brand protection and much more.
It took place at the McNamara Alumni Center on the U of M Campus. If you’ve never seen this building you should take a peek at their website. It’s one interesting and cool building. Both inside and out!
Our day consisted of six session times with three sessions in each time slot (except the first and last) to choose from. A little variety for everyone.

My blog is worth $12,984.42.
How much is your blog worth?
Someone has way to much time on their hands and created a tool that figures out how much a blog is worth.
Inspired by Tristan Louis’s research into the value of each link to Weblogs Inc, I’ve created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.
Find out your value at: Business Opportunities Weblog

If you haven’t seen Shaun of the Dead [Trailer in iTunes] I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite movies!
It’s a parody of Dawn of the Dead; only this time, they added a love story and some comedy. It’s very funny as two unlikely, and lazy, heroes have to try and survive as their town is over run by zombies. Sure, it’s a little scary at times, but I don’t like horror movies and I enjoyed Shaun of the Dead very much.
Check it out and enjoy!
If you ever thought that advertising lies, here is more proof.
We went to Party America today and got some Halloween window silhouettes. The package comes with 2 giant decorations that are 33.5″ x 65″. I took them out and they are quite big; well window sized. On each is a cat and some bats. Very cool looking. But here is the kicker, the packaging says “Life-size characters decorate 2 windows of your home!”
Now we have two cats and neither are four feet tall; sitting down. Life-Sized?! What kind of monster cats do they have at their factory?
In case your $0.20 Carmen Sandiego didn’t arrive, you can go online and chase her down! Brewster Jennings Protects America partners Carmen Sandiego with Google Maps and it’s quite cool! Unless you can’t remember where someplace in the US is. OOps. I lost my first try.
Check it out and have some fun.
We bought last week’s episode of Lost - Everybody Hates Hugo from iTuens and watched it tonight. I thought it was a great deal at only $1.99. The quality was fine when it was bright out (on the show) and a little pixeley when it was dark. All in all, I’m vary happy with my commercial free, $1.99, iTunes downloaded episode of Lost - Everybody Hates Hurley.
Now, I don’t have an iPod that does video so we didn’t watch it on that. However my Powerbook has an S-Video out port. So I went S-Video to A/V cable to TV. I then went from audio out to A/V cable to TV. So we watched the episode on TV while it was playing in iTunes. Full screen of course.
Some posts around here are related to others, while some posts just think their related to each other. Now, a new feature on my blog is Related Posts. You never know, you may have missed a good post from way back when.
Now I don’t select who’s related and who’s not, so I had to put the word Possibly in as some posts are not not related, but they show up anyways. I’m also not convinced that I have it looking like I like, design wise, but for now it works.
Enjoy. ![]()
