Since I have an new iPod, I need a new skin for it. So I was shopping around eBay when I found a ToughSkin. This had all the features I wanted; mainly it had to look good and have the round part on the back for a belt clip. So I bought it.

A few days later it arrived and it was cool. Came with a screen protector and a wheel protector. However there are two downfalls. You can’t use it with the Dock or iTrip. Now no Dock access is ok as I can just use the cable, not a huge deal. But no iTrip?! That’s not going to fly with me.

I don’t think Apple ever wanted people to open the Mac Mini. Over the weekend my father in law and I installed memory in his and was it ever hard.

I did a lot of searching and Smash’s World has a video that tells you how to open the little machine. Just take a puddy knife (or two) pry it into the Mac Mini and basically force it open. I’m not sure how Apple intended people to get in and upgrade memory, but they sure didn’t do a good job of making it accessible.

Wow.  I’m looking at a preview release of Flock for the Mac!  It’s got an awesome icon, excellent interface and I can blog from within Flock to my WordPress blog.  I think it’s based on Firefox 1.5  How cool is that!  Doesn’t import Firefox settings though, or so I’ve found.

That’s my two minute review. I haven’t explored half the features yet. This is very cool.

For our wedding anniversary (ok so a few weeks after the actual date) Christi and I went on a hot air balloon ride! It was a crisp 30° at dawn when we went up but that didn’t stop us.

It’s a little tricky on the take off and landing but other than that it’s smooth sailing! We didn’t go to high in the air but enough to see for thirty miles or more. Check out the pictures and you can see the birth and death of a hot air balloon.

So what’s up with themes on the Mac? Seems that we’ve all but forgot about them. Who’s to blame? Or are we just expecting to much?

A few years ago a program called Shapeshifter was released and it changed the way we themed Mac OS X. It was now safe and easy. Soon after everyone seemed to jump on the theme bandwagon. Many themes were released and themes from Max Themes and Swizcore Studios were some of the hottest around. So what happened?

You can now purchase TV shows via iTunes!!!! For example, each episode of LOST is only $1.99. That’s cheap for the entire episode! Desperate Housewives also available! OMG That’s Cool!!!!!!

It’s true. Apple is releasing it’s video iPod today. I didn’t think it would happen but it did. I haven’t seen official pictures yet, just heard the news from someone at the special event. New iMacs too. These are thinner and have iSight built in. Nice! I hear rumors of new software too. Can’t wait for the Apple site to update!

With Christmas not to far off, I know what’s on my list; iPod accessories! Sure I have an iTrip LCD but it’s not that great. I’m having a few issues. So I may want to try a new FM transmitter. I also just got a case on eBay. Other than that, there are hundreds of iPod accessories out there now and some are really cool!

The Dixie Chicks return with a new song called I Hope

I Hope is a single to benefit Hurricane Katrina survivors and I just found it on iTunes over the weekend. Only available in digital format, this is no indication of a new album.

I was very surprised to see it but had to check it out. I download I Hope and I’m glad I did. Not only does it support a good cause, it’s an excellent song. A must download.

Another week and more new Garth Brooks music! A few weeks back I hear Who’ll Stop the Rain and now when I turn on the radio I hear Good Ride Cowboy!

Good Ride Cowboy is actually a single this time. Written about Garth’s good friend Chris Ledoux, it’s a tribute to Chris’ life. I guess the new song is the first single from the new box set. Humm does that mean we’ll get a few new Garth singles? And what’s so great about this box set? Only time will tell.
