LED Christmas Lights

While out shopping with my Mom over the weekend, I came across LED Christmas lights. Light Emitting Diodes (LED) lights are a new bread of Christmas lights. They have some amazing features that I can’t help but get excited over.

  • Indoor or Outdoor - That’s always good.
  • Cool to the touch - With no filament they don’t get warm or hot.
  • Uses 80% less electricity - That means more money for me!
  • Will last for 20 years - That’s much longer than regular Christmas lights at my place.

Opening a G3 iMac

A few weeks back I complained about opening a Mac Mini and said that most Macs I tried to open up were so easy. Well add another easy one to the list. I upgraded my mom’s G5 iMac from 192 Mb to 384 Mb. That’s a pretty good change to me and it was so fast and easy. Hopefully she notices.

However, on the bad side, I noticed her 56k dial up was only connecting at 28k! OMG, and I’m using it! So now I’m on a quest to either get that backup to 56k speeds or find a new dial up provider.

Firefox Extensions List - Nov.

One of the greatest things about Firefox is the fact that it comes with extensions! That means you can add extra features to the browser above and beyond web browsing. The best part is that you can customize the browser for your needs. You are in control!

With that said, here is my November Firefox Extensions list. (In no particular order) These are all the ones I have installed at work.

  • Sage RSS Reader - Nice RSS reader that sits in the sidebar.
  • Adblock - I hate ads so this blocks them.

Google Referrer Ads Won’t Show

I heard about the new Google referrer ads the other day and I thought I’d be great to add them to my site! So I put the code in my blog single post pages and on my site map. Both pages have the correct code, but won’t show any ads. :(

If anyone knows why this might be I’m all ears. Is it a host problem? A Google problem? Other Google ads show just fine. I’ve written Google and I hope they respond soon. If it is a hosting issue, they must be doing something oftly crazy with the tracking information.

Finally, a Site Map

I tell every client at work that they need a site map, a good site map. However, I’ve never created one for my site. So I took a little time and created the TwisterMc.com Site Map. Not very exciting I know, but something that was probably really needed.

iTrip LCD Review

When I got my new iPod (20 Gig, Color) the first accessory I needed was the iTrip. My old iPod (20 gig, 2nd gen) had an original iTrip and I couldn’t leave home without it. It became a permanent fixture on my iPod. So I ordered an iTrip LCD off eBay and and I have to say that it has some good features, but one major issue.

The Good: :)
Great design
No software to add to the iPod or iTunes
Easy to change stations
Only FM transmitter (that I know of) that goes to 87.5
Good sound quality
No batteries or extra cords to plugin
No setup
No delay when a song starts playing, it just starts

My Social Christmas List

It’s that time of year again. The Simpsons’ Halloween special is over and I’m waiting for the snow to fly! So that means it’s almost time for Christmas.

Every year someone asks me, “What’s on your list?” and I never can remember all those cool things I’ve seen in the past few months. But this year, I’m more prepared. My Christmas list is being built with a social bookmarking tool!

I’m using to easily remember all the things that I think would be cool to own. You can check out my and feel free to buy me something.

Walmart Garth Brooks Section Online

Walmart.com has a new section. It doesn’t give much new information but is the start of the new Garth/Walmart relationship. There are also commercials on TV but I’ve missed most of them so far. It’ll be interesting to see what’s up and if the new project makes it to stores before Christmas.

Banjo Boy - Free Download

Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband’s Banjo Boyicon is a free Discovery Download in iTunes! Not sure how long it’ll stay free, but if you’re a county fan, or if you just like good music, download it while it’s still free!
