Flock Firefox Theme

One of the big things I liked about the up-and-coming web browser was the theme. It seemed so shiny and nice. Others must have liked it to as it’s being ported to Firefox!

I’ve been running the and it’s very nice and looks quite complete to me. Works very well and looks amazing!

Another day, another new Firefox theme. :D

Congrats Garth & Trisha Brooks

Boy am I out of the Garth loop. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were married over the weekend and I didn’t even realize they were engaged! Congratulations to both. This may be bad of me to say, but I hope this one works out for you two. :)

Background Christmas Lights

Reader: …would you please tell me how ya had those lights up there?

Me: It’s quite simple actually. Just use a bit of CSS code to add a background image to the site. If you already have a background image on your website, then this won’t work well for you.

Steps to take to get Christmas lights on your website like I did:
1) Download or create a nice, repeatable lights graphic. Much like this one.
2) Open the CSS file for your site. If you’re on Blogger, like the reader was, then just go edit your template. The CSS code is all the top of the document within the style tag.
3) Upload the lights graphic to your website, or to a photo sharing service like Flickr.
4) Add this code to your CSS document:
body {
background: #FFFFFF url(http://www.yourwebsite.com/path/to/image/file_name.gif) repeat-x fixed;
}

Firefox Theme : Netscape Fusion

A while back Netscape 8 made a big buzz. It was all new and came with a cool blue/green theme.

Now that Netscape’s buzz has run out, a developer is porting the Netscape 8 theme to Firefox.

Fusion Alternative for Firefox

I’ve been running Fusion Alternative all day and it’s quite nice. A great looking and complete theme. Seems much more polished and usable that other themes out there.

Check out the authors homepage at http://f22.aaa.livedoor.jp/%7Eptdb/firefox/aluminum.html

Oh and in case you wanted to know what the difference between Fusion Alternative and Fusion Kai is, Kai adds a big top bar that includes the Netscape logo and lots of wasted space.

Looking for good Christmas music.

O Christmas TreeI’m in search of some good Christmas music. Every year artists come out with Christmas albums and some are good while others are the same ol same ol.

Sure, Winter Wonderland is a great song, but everyone does it. Same with All I Want for Christmas and many more. The classics are great, but some artists come out with their own versions or their own Christmas songs. Those are the ones I’m looking for as some are excellent!

Some good examples include Deck the Halls by SheDaisy, Jingle Bells by Crazy Frogicon, New York Christmas by Rob Thomasicon and Merry Christmas Happy Holiday by NSYNCicon.

How To Tell Firefox to Open a DMG

If you are running Firefox on a Mac, you’ve more than likely came across the problem that it has no idea what to do with a .dmg file.

Ideally we’d want it to open the .dmg just like it does a .zip file and I’ve figured out how to do that.

Christmas Firefox Theme

Just Released: Tinseltown - A full Christmas Firefox Theme

Since I’ve yet to find a nice Firefox Christmas theme, I decided to make a few easy modifications to Firefox to make it more festive. You can see the two modifications below.

Firefox Christmas Themes Preview
Now I haven’t created a full blown theme. These are just a few minor edits that you should be able to make pretty easy. I’m on a Mac so I had no problems. If you are on Windows, well I’m not exactly sure how well this will work. Maybe someone can try and let me know.

Wanted: Starter FireFox Theme

I’m looking for a good theme to work with to create new Firefox themes.

I hacked into a theme today and added in Camino buttons to create one nice, yet incomplete, Camino Firefox theme. So now I have the urge to create more. Course I don’t have time to. ;)

I can’t use the one I hacked today because I don’t think it works well on both Mac and PC. If I create a Firefox theme, I want it to work for everyone. I tried finding the default Firefox theme on my machine (and in Firefox) but I couldn’t find it. So that’s why I’m looking for a good starter theme to build upon or modify into something new and cool.

Decorating for Christmas

I’ve put up a few lights and added some snowflakes to the site this morning to help spread a little Christmas cheer! Let me now if something looks odd or there are usability issues. I use big monitors and a Mac so who knows what the PC world will see. ;)

Let me know what you think of my Christmas decorations.

iTunes adds NBC SciFi and USA TV Shows

iTunes_RGB_9mm

The iTunes Music Store has added new shows for us to download. Most notably, NBC current and vintage shows. You can now download the latest Surface or go back in time and get Knight Rider or Dragnet.

There is also a couple from Sci Fi and one from USA in the mix.

Hopefully this is just a hint of what’s to come as we regularly download Lost and there are many others we’d like to see added to iTunes!
