Heated Car Seat Covers

I have to tell you, I didn’t think I’d get heated seats until I got a new car. However, for Christmas I got heated car seat covers”heat". Heated seats without getting a new car!

These things are wonderful. I just hop in in the morning, plug in the power to the cigarette lighter and before I know it, my buns are toasty warm.

I have two setting, LO and HI so I can control how warm I get, but I always just stick it on HI and when I get too warm, I shut it off.

Web Design vs SEO

There seems to be a discussion going on about web design vs SEO. Why is it that web designers and SEO don’t go together? Well, it’s two different fields that have be separate for so long, but now have to act as one. And no one is willing to change or take the time to understand.

I was a web designer for 5 years and we never though to SEO. We built the pages to look cool and work. That’s it. Heck, they focused on IE most of the time and that bugged me as I believe that any site should work in a any browser. IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Search Engines!

iPox 0.2 [Updated]

I’m submitting iPox 0.2 to Mozilla today and hopefully it’ll be available to download later today.

Updates include:

  • Rounded URL Bar
  • Better Big Icons Background
  • Tool Tip Design
  • Status Bar Background
  • URL Dropdown Arrow thing (has a few issues though)
  • Secure URL Bar Background

Still, there is much to do, but I’m slowly progressing.

Two new issues include missing lock icon in URL bar and moving down arrow icon in toolbar.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard & Mouse

For the past two days I’ve been testing out a wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse. So far, my feelings are pretty positive.

Now I’m not a huge Microsoft fan, actually I tend to avoid them like the plague, but this keyboard and mouse was just sitting there, looking all sad like with all it’s buttons. Ohh buttons!! So I thought I’d take it for a spin.

It’s also good to note I had a Kensington wireless mouse or two and was not pleased with how they worked. A short click delay bugged the crud out of me so I went back to wired. However, with Microsoft, there is no delay.

Firefox with Aqua Form Widgets

Give it up for a fellow named “Pu7o” who figured out how to build Firefox with Mac form widgets.

Granted the implementation isn’t perfect, but it sure is much closer than anything we’ve seen before. Now aqua check boxes, radio buttons and buttons show up.

If you’re on a Mac and would like the native form widgets, just hop on over to where they were nice enough to re-build Firefox 1.5 with the Mac widgets.

Oh and did I mention that the form widgets can be themed by Shapeshifter?! Cool!

iPox on Mozilla’s Site

iPox has been approved by the nice people at Mozilla and added to the Mozilla Update site.

So far it says that iPox has 483 downloads!! Holy cow! How cool is that?! Better yet, the reviews are mostly positive. Pretty impressive for my first attempt at a Firefox theme. :D

iPox Lives

It’s true, my iPox Firefox theme lives!!

I was worried there for a moment as there was a missing, and very important, menu on Windows. So I took some time, played with a few things, got mad and disappointed and then, there it was. At first it looked horrid, but it was there. Then it looked better and now it looks ok. Usable, but not the prettiest. I’m still working out darn Windows issues.

It works on Mac and PC now, and hopefully I can move forward with actual design updates and not just Windows fixes soon.
