Butler IS Mac Productivity

I’ve had Butler on my machine at work for a while but I really haven’t started using it until about a month ago and am I ever impressed. It has brought a whole new level of productivity to my day and I’m still learning the ins and outs.

Here is a screen shot of my Butler setup. Butler Screen Shot

The first big feature that brought me in was the ability to assign applications to function keys. I have a nice Mac keyboard but F1-F8 & F16 don’t do anything. So I opened up Butler and assigned the function keys to have the following purpose.

iTunes Billion Song Countdown w/Prizes

It’s that time again, time when iTunes counts down (or up) to a record. This time it’s for 1 billion legally downloaded songs.

Better yet, Apple is giving prizes to at every 100,000th song mark. The lucky downloaders will receive a prize package featuring a black 4GB iPod nano and a $100 iTunes Music Card.

If you get the 1 billionth song you get 20-inch iMac, 10 60GB iPods, and a $10,000 iTunes Music Card!! I’d love that!

So get downloading and maybe you’ll win an iPod or the grand prize!! :D

Johnnie Walker iPod Case

I got my free Johnnie Walker iPod case in the mail today!

Looks pretty good on my iPod and even came with a screen protector.  I’m interested to see if it’s dockable, but I doubt it.

Great free advertising scheme by the way. ;)

Cool Free iPod Case, TwistClip and iShade

lajo.biz has lots of iPod cases to choose from at reasonably good prices.  However now, they are free!

You get to choose from one of may cool designs, you get a free TwistClip belt clip and a free iShade screen protector.

The only thing that isn’t free is the shipping.  That’s about $8.  I think that for an iPod case and the two accessories $8 isn’t bad at all!

I ordered my Phosphorus designed case this morning and I’m eagerly awaiting it’s arrival!!

If you want a new iPod case at a great price, check out www.lajo.biz

2006 Super Bowl XL Ads

You can check out all the ads from the 2006 Super Bowl (XL) at iFilm.

I didn’t catch to many, so I’ll be watching them online too.

Keep in mind, iFilm will be extremely busy for a few days so be patient.

Oh and congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers!

InLine Spell Check for Firefox

It’s true, there is support for inline spell check in Firefox!

When I upgraded Firefox yesterday my SpellBound didn’t work so I did a little searching and found the developers preview of SpellBound. Not only did it work in Firefox 1.5.0.1 but it came with a new feature; inline spell check!

Now, just like Thunderbird, when you type in a text box, misspelt words underline in red. The only downside is that you can’t right click and get suggestions but I’m sure they are working on it. Either way, this is fantastic!

Groundhog Day - What’s the Point?

Today is Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. That means that there is six more weeks of winter. But what’s the point?

Actually, what I’d like to know is what happened to winter? Here in Minnesota we just ended the warmest January ever and we had more days in the 40s than we did in the single digits. Snow? Well there isn’t much of that either. We get an inch or two every few weeks, but not enough to keep the ground covered for long.

Mozilla SeaMonkey 1 Review

I’ve downloaded Mozilla SeaMonkey 1.0 and I’m using it right now.  I was all excited as I thought SeaMonkey would be Firefox+Thunderbird+Nvu all rolled into one.  Not Quite.

First off, SeaMonkey has an identity crisis on it’s hands.  I started it up and it felt like 1997 with Netscape 4.7.  Seriously people, either make a default theme or make the ‘Modern’ theme default.  People do judge on look and the Netscape 4.7 look is not good.

Second, some of the features I’ve come to know and love from Mozilla products are missing.
