I Installed A Firefox Theme, Now What?
I’ve been getting quite a few messages about how to get a theme to activate. I think that Mozilla has a usability issue as once a theme is installed, nothing happens. This tends to confuse quite a few people who are new to themes. So I thought I’d put together a quick ‘Now What?’ post.
After you’ve installed a Firefox theme, follow these 4 steps:
- Go to Tools -> Addons.
- Click on the Themes tab.
- Click Use Theme on the theme you’d like to use.
- Restart Firefox.

Make sure you close ALL Firefox windows when restarting Firefox. When the browser restarts it’ll be using it’s nice new theme.
To revert back to the default, in step 3, select Firefox (default).
Enjoy!

RE: I Installed A Firefox Theme, Now What?.
I followed the suggestions above and I still can’t get it to work. I’m running Firefox v 2.0.0.5. Any suggestions? I must be missing something. Thanks in advance.

If you followed all those instructions, then I’m not sure the issue. That should have worked.

I had the same problem. Al I had to do was restart Firefox again - it may be a time lapse thing

Hi, I’m having a similar sounding problem as Maurice…. For some reason, I can’t get this theme to show up when I look under add-ons. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong…. Any suggestions? Oh, and I too am using FireFox 2.0.0.5
Thanks

Maurice and Aly:
If i had to venture a guess, I’d say it was probably a PEBKAC error. Not that hard to fix.
