Garth Brooks is More than a Memory
Garth Brooks is back on the radio with his yearly single. This time it’s titled More than a Memory.
The thought of a new Garth music shouldn’t come as to much of a surprise. It seems that with his Walmart deal, Garth gets a new product each year and those products are then promoted via a new radio single. This year the product is The Ultimate Hits and contains:
… 30 classics, 3 new songs and a bonus track on two CDs. The set also includes a DVD with 33 videos including new and ever-before-seen footage.
Now, I have to say that sounds like a lot of good stuff. However, most of it is really just a mix of everything I already have. Either way, I’m headed to Walmart on November 6th to pick it up.
Sadly the Walmart deal means that there is no Garth in iTunes and I’m not even sure that the Walmart music store will let you download More than a Memory. Garth, you’re really missing out there. Instead you either have to be patient and listen to it on the radio or find other ways of getting it. 
More than a Memory is an excellent song and I can’t wait to hear what else is new.

Garth Brooks’ ‘The Ultimate Hits’ is set to hit stores November 6. While his last compilation of hits was sold exclusively at Wal-Mart, this new project will be available to all retailers, with the exception of online services such as iTunes — Brooks is adamant that the project be sold as a set and not available for downloading separate tracks.

Actually FYI, more than a memory was written by Lee Brice, who sings She Ain’t Right, currently on the radio as well. Brice is quite talented and had More Than a Memory on his myspace profile for a while, but had to remove it when Brooks bought the rights to it. useless trivia for the day.

You’re right, it makes no sense to not sell the album with the single or just the single for that matter, right away.
Look what radio has done to Rascal Flatts - they have worn them out to the point I change the station when they come on.
Same with Garth. They are playing the hell out of “memory” and frankly, by November 6th, I’ll be sick of it.
Right now I would buy it - will I by then, nope.

Wow! Thanks for putting this on your blog!! I’ve been wanting to hear the new Garth song. Im a big fan but my mom’s the bigger fan in the family. Back when Garth was releasing an album just about every year I always knew what to get her for Christmas. *lol* This year it’ll be the same. Not like she doesn’t have the other box sets (well she does) but hey! New songs and a cover to a Huey Lewis song (which I thought they’d be releasing first).

Heard this song for the first time on the way home from a football game I coached in. After a tough break up. football has been my sanctuary. I can go to practice or a game to forget the pain. Garth hit it flat on the head with how I feel these days. Driving by her house, dialing, but not hitting send, calling friends for support and not being able to sleep because that is when she visits. I never dreamed about her until she was gone. Thanks for another great song Garth. You are still the man brother.

hey I thought your blog was great if I wasn’t so broke I would buy you a beer. This song is fantastic, It reminds me of my boyfriend He just recently went through a divorce and the woman he was with did a number on him. This song reminds me of him alot. Last year he “drank more than he could ever drank” and he still thinks about her alot. and I feel like I can’t fill that void but we’re getting there. He went through a period where he wouldn’t sleep and so I can definetly relate to this song. My fella heard it for the first time yesterday and he didn’t know what to say and after a while he jokingly looked over at me and said,”hey he wrote a song about me.”
