Websites to Note

URL FileI have this habit of dragging URLs to my desktop and saving them for a later time. I always mean to post about them or do something with them. What I end up with is a mess of URL files on my desktop.

So, today, I’m posting information about all the URLs I have. This will allow me to see my desktop picture and give you some interesting sites to check out.

1) boakes.org/autometa – WordPress plugin that automatically tags your post with what it thinks are relevant tags. I just installed it and this post will be my first test with it.

2) Geek to Live – Make Firefox text boxes more usable. Install spell check, resizeable box scripts, save extensions and more. Some great tips here!

3) Meebo – Web based IM client that supports Yahoo, MSN, AOL, GTalk and Jabber

4) Rasmus’ 30 second AJAX Tutorial – This is a must read, and try, for me as I’ve always wanted to get into AJAX more!

5) SLAX – SLAX is fast and beautiful Linux operating system which fits on small (3.14″) CD-ROM disc. I really want to try this and play with Linux.

6) LinkChecker – Firefox plugin that highlights URLs in color to tell you if they are good or not. I have yet to install it but it looks handy.

7) Dejavu Web Emulator – Now this is fun! Surf todays web on some of the oldest web browsers. Not good for using, just great for playing with!

8) Suprglu – Combine your social services like del.icio.us and Flickr in one place. Looks like a neat service, I have yet to try it though.

That’s it for now. I had more but I don’t remember why I saved them. 😉
