Any bacon thoughts you’d like to share???

Everything pictured above is either cake or frosting. Right down to to the fries and ketchup.

To make it even better, when the hamburger was cut, the bun was white cake and the burger in the middle was chocolate cake. So it even looked like a burger once you took a bite out of it.

A lot of thought and time was taken to make this cake and it turned out pretty darn cool. We just had to buy it when we saw it was only $11.

Mmmm, it’s like dinner and dessert all in one meal.

The iTV was announced too. Coming in Feburary it wirelessly transmists music, movies, tv shows and more to your TV. I like this product and will consider getting one. At $299 it’s a bit pricy, but lets wait and see all the official details. Jam packed with all that HD stuff though, it’s probably a steal.

The Keynote is still going on and no speak of 10.5 yet. I’m sure it’s coming though.

The first on was a Thai restaurant. Now if you ask me where I’d like to go eat, I’d say KFC or out for pizza. Thai however has never been on my radar but I went anyways.

My group helped me pick out something good to eat based on my likes and dislikes. Non spicy was a high priority. I ended up with something with chicken and big rice noodles and I have to say, it was very good. The table also ordered some sushi and other things that I did try. I have to say it was quite a good experience and reminded me of a Chinese restaurant.

On a separate night, and with a different group, we decided to go to a Greek restaurant. Now I’ve seen A Big Fat Greek Wedding but that’s as close to Greek food as I’ve gotten. The menu was much easier to understand and I ended up with a fantastic chicken dish with potatoes and rice. The table also shared flaming cheese which was literally on fire when it came. I’ll definitely try a Greek restaurant again.

When I’m alone, or with the wife, I think that a Thai restaurant is not something we would have really given a chance. Greek on the other hand has been on our mind, but not a high priority. Overall, I was very happy with both my experiences and am glad that I gave them a chance.

We recently came across Ptinr.com, a great website that lets you put in any food and it’ll tell you if it’s high, medium or low in vitamin K. Did you know that Cheetos are high? Starbursts are low. Chocolate Milk is high. Chicken Nuggets are low. They also have a great, 10 page, print out of most foods and their vitamin K value that you can take with you.

Pintar’s Vitamin K Registry is by far the best resource we’ve found for looking up foods with vitamin K.

Congratulations mom & dad! 40 years is a long time and you make it look easy.

For my first image, I looked back though some old photos and found a picture of a nasty fish that was served up at my sister-in-laws wedding. It’s salmon and doesn’t it make you want to …um… dig in?

Here is my five minute review.  I got my invite so I just had to take a few minutes to play with it.

Works on a Mac in Firefox and seems quite nice.  No Safari support.  Scrolls better than iRows and has a very simple and clean design.

I don’t see any ‘link’ abilities though or sheet tabs.  You can freeze rows/columns and change the color of text and do basic formatting.

All the PC shortcuts are here, no Mac keyboard shortcuts though.

No Spell checking.

Sharing is with specific people only, not the public.

It seems to get confused when I rename a sheet or delete a sheet.

It’s new so it’s quite basic but a nice start.

That’s all I have time for now.

The end result was a purchase of a new iMac. It’s running the intel chip and has so many new and cool programs and features!!

So far it’s wonderful and I haven’t even played with half of the new features.

This is quite a step up from my Powerbook 667!!

Now I like the candy version of cigarettes much more than the real version and having them again is just fun.

Well, I just found out that it’s not just one or two people, it’s a club! Basically, if you design a really cool site and it looks bad in Internet Explorer, just add this little banner. Or, if your site looks fine in IE and you just want to promote the use of Internet Explorer alternatives, this works too.

We spent about five hours there and I don’t think we saw it all. Most of it though and we are very tired out. Oh and we did do more than just eat, we some good fair booths, animals and registered to win a free iPod shuffle.

I’m sure I could spend another day there and see things we missed and eat food I didn’t realize was there. So much to see and do and lots of fun to be had by all.

I can’t wait. I’ll have that on my Christmas List for sure!

What it all boiled down to was interaction. If it’s not interactive, it’s not going to work as well.

One of the keynote speakers was Chuck Porter who has worked with BMW Mini, Virgin Atlantic, Burger King and many others. He showed commercials that took traditional advertising to the next level and it was amazing. One example was was buying adspace on the back of popular mens magazines. Then, creating a new, phony, magazine cover on the back. What you ended up with was something like Maxim on one side and Animal Rescuer on the other. That way, when you had a girl over, flip the half naked Maxim cover over to the back and there would be a cute Animal Rescuer magazine cover that made the men look sensitive and good to women. Another example was taking a beer bottle and putting a label on the back that could be pealed off and worn as a badge. The labels said things like ‘Guess where my tattoo is’ and ‘Skinny dippers are people too’. [more examples] Hundreds of labels were created and they were very successful. I guess a lot of drunk people feel like pealing the labels and sticking them to their shirts. I know I would.

The other main speaker was Joseph Jaffe who talked more about the new definition of creativity and that interactivity is everything. It’s all about letting the user take control. Everything from TV spots that you can order ‘fake’ products (marketing pieces) or internet ads that allow you explore and interact with an advertisement without ever leaving the page you are on. Some of the examples were so good it made me want to turn off adblock.

Over all I really enjoyed the evening and the speakers. It’s interesting to see the things that some of the best advertising people are doing and why. It’s not black and white anymore. It’s more about advertising to people without them knowing you are advertising to them.

Ok, so it’s just the new song from Tim McGraw. It’s a bitter and fun song about a guy who looses everything and is forced to work at McDonalds to pay for his life and theirs. The new husband comes in and the former husband has to help him. It probably doesn’t sound so good when I’m explaining it but it is a fun song called “Do you want fries with that?“.

They are as good as ever. Ok, so I miss the icy outside shell, but that could have been from my parents freezer. Who knows. I hear Jello also makes some but I haven’t seen them.

Now rush to the stores and buy them up before they disappear again!
