For my golden birthday (last March) present my wife got me a gift certificate to go skydiving. It was something I’d always wanted to do but had never done. Then, on June 20th, we went over to Skydive Twin Cities and I made my jump!
http://www.twistermc.com/blogimageupload/-video/Thomas-Skydive-062009.flvThe whole experience was great. I think I was more nervous thinking about it than I was actually in the air and falling to the ground. It was a lot of fun and I’d definitely do it again.
My father in-law, Mike Soldan, also wanted to go skydiving so we invited him along. He was a bit more scared with the experience but had fun too.

We recently had our downstairs bathroom remodeled by Anthony Raduenz Specialty. It was a small bathroom but one that we used quite often. We were worried about grout coming out from in-between the shower tiles and the shower floor also coming apart. We didn’t even know about the tons of mold we had too. Anthony whipped it into shape and we got an all new bathroom that we love.
Since the bathroom is small, it’s hard to get before and after picts, but here are a few.
Lets face it, some of us are on Twitter more than we are paying attention to most other forms of communication. We can tell you what was recently blogged, but we sometimes have no idea what’s going on outside our window with the weather. Wouldn’t it be nice to get them to come to you, via Twitter? Now you can.
I’ve used a combination of TwitterFeed.com and Weather.gov weather alert feeds to post updates to Twitter. Now when a storm is coming, I can know!
Another fun MIMA event has come and gone. This time it was the 2008 Holiday party. In talking with some people, here are a few things that were learned.
Black Hat vs White Hat SEO – I had an fun talk with a kid who goes to the UofM and does Black Hat SEO. He said he didn’t have the patients for doing things the right way, he just like making things happen now. A lady at our table asked us the difference between what we do, as it sounded pretty much the same, and I said, “He does it fast, I last longer.” Tell that to a lady who’s had a few glass’ of wine and her mind will connect something else and we all had a good laugh.
I was walking by Mastercuts in Eden Prairie mall yesterday and I saw the Twitter bird in a window advertisement for Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree products.
See for yourself.

Twitter Logo & Branding
Looks to me like someone has some explaining to do.
[Update]
enSue has pointed out that the bird also shows up in a Wordpress theme by Randa Clay.

Bluebird Wordpress Theme
This is leading us to believe that the bird is a stock graphic available for anyone to use. This also means that there is no Twitter bird, just a bird that shows up on Twitter’s homepage.
While at the MIMA Summit on Wednesday, I got to talk with Ryan Evans. Little did I know at the time, he was running for president!
Since I’m still an undecided voter, Ryan Evans is as good as any. His lack of political experience and ability to dodge questions is on par with any other candidate. He takes on real topics too, like the Facebook re-design. Plus he’s a local guy (Minneapolis) so I guess that makes him an even better choice.
If you want to check out Ryan Evans, go to www.helpryanevans.com and vote for your right to not change a thing.
It’s been one year since the 35W bridge gave way and it’s still unbelievable.
WCCO has a great retrospective on the survivors, the responders and others at the scene of the bridge collapse. Especially moving to us is the Coulter family and Paula, whom my wife use to work with. The doctors didn’t think she’d live, let alone walk and talk. It really goes to show you that the impossible is possible.
On Dec. 24th, 2008 the new 35W bridge will open.

To all the responders & rescue crews, the doctors & nurses, the thoughts & prayers and the construction workers bringing the bridge back to life, Thank You.
Last night (March 19th) we enjoyed Daughtry and Bon Jovi in concert at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.
Granted our seats weren’t that close, and digital zoom isn’t the best, but I was pretty happy with my pictures. View them all.
And the concert ROCKED! Daughtry is awesome and Bon Jovi sings non stop. His vocal are great yet his dance moves are corny as can be. Still, one Wild night.
My wife and I went downtown Minneapolis today not knowing anything was going on. We did a little shopping and then had lunch. After lunch we noticed a line was forming through the shopping center. It was across the street from the Target Center and we had no idea what everyone was there for.
Taking a look around, we started to see a lot of Barack Obama stickers and shirts. Sure enough, he was coming to town. 30 minutes later, the line extended through the Minneapolis skyway system for almost three blocks.
