Simpsons Firefox Theme

It’s not exactly in English, but it doesn’t really matter. There is an official Simpsons Firefox theme promoting the movie.

Simpsons Firefox Theme

Sure, it’s a German theme, but it contains doughnuts and The Simpsons Movie logo.

I had thought of creating a Simpsons theme once, but it would have been much more character orientated. Still, it’s kind of fun and looks decent. Not enough Simpsons for me, but the doughnuts look tasty.

Download the theme from the official Mozilla Addon site.

Spiderman 3 Is Just OK.

Spiderman 3We went out and saw the much anticipated Spiderman 3 today and came home a bit disappointed. Yes, it was good, but not great. We didn’t feel satisfied at the end and a little bored at times during the movie.

We did really enjoy Spiderman 1 & 2 and were excited for the 3rd. Maybe we over hyped it for ourselves, but it sure fell short of expectations.

If you really want to see it, go. But if you aren’t sure, wait for the video. It’s not worth the high price of admission in my opinion.

Freedom Writers

Freedom WritersWe caught Freedom Writers at the local theater and it’s is an excellent movie.

It’s a based on a true story where one teacher tries to unite students that are from different gangs and yet all lead the same life. She works with them to let them know that their lives aren’t anything new and help teach them what history has taught us. She fights the school system and against the prejudices that exist. It’s inspiring and I hope it’s more fact than fiction.

Apple iPhone/PDA/iPod - Wow

The announcement today of the Apple iPhone is amazing. The little device that can do phone, music, videos, tv and so much more blows me away. All this with no buttons, just a touch screen. It’s basically like a Mac Nano. It’s almost perfect. The main, and killer, downside is that it’s Cingular only. I’m not switching to them anytime soon and I really wish they could have partnered with Verison or a few cell companies.

Jammin’ on my Bose SoundDock

Christmas was good to me and this year as I got a Bose SoundDock!

After I worked out a few issues with my iPod, it now works great and I love it. I’m all for filling the house with my music and the SoundDock is great as it also charges my iPod. :D

Other cool gifts included a new watch, the Muppet Show season one, Shaun of the Dead and iTunes gift cards to name a few!

My wife also got a cool iPod accessory, but I’m waiting for her to post about that.

Netflix or Blockbuster?

As the days get colder and the snow gets ready to fly, my wife and I are pondering the movie rental services that come to your door. However, we can’t decide if we should try Netflix or Blockbuster.

Netflix has been around for quite a while and I hear mostly good stuff. Most people I know that do the movie rental services though the mail are doing Netflix. However, Blockbuster seems a few dollars cheaper and give you a free in store coupon.

What have you used or do you recommend? Good bad or ugly, we’d like to know.

Larry the Cable Guy : Health Inspector

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector We rented Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector over the weekend and found it to be quite enjoyable.

I think that all the bad reviews got our hopes down and when you go into a movie not expecting much, it turns out to be better than you expected.

It was funny and worth our rent. It wasn’t overly crude either even though there are a lot of fart jokes in it. It also reminded me a lot of my family. That’s a good thing.

Nightmare Before Christmas 3D & Desktops

They’re back, Jack Skellington, Sally, Dr. Finklestein, Oogie Boogie, Zero and the whole Nightmare Before Christmas gang. This time, in digital 3D!

Disney is re-releasing the movie in select theaters across the country on October 20th. I haven’t found out where it’s playing in Minneapolis yet, but, if it is, I’ll be there!

If you haven’t seen the Nightmare Before Christmas it’s a claymation movie where Jack Skellington, the Halloween King, discovers Christmas and tries to take over Santa’s job. However, it’s a disaster.

Apple Introduces iPods, Movies, Games & TV Box

Apple released more than just a few things today. Now available is iTunes 7 incorporating movie sales, games (Bejeweled, Cubis 2, Mahjong, Mini golf, pac man, tetris, texas holdem, vortex, and zuma) for the iPod and bigger TV shows; 640×480 (h264), up from 320×240.

Movies are $12.99 for new releases, preorders and first week. After that up to $14.99, however older movies go for only $9.99. It’ll take about 30 minutes at a 5mb/s broadband connection. Movies come with Dolby surround sound and are near DVD quality. Heck, you gotta risk something for getting them on demand and cheap. :)

Accepted : A Great Comedy

Accepted Movie PosterYesterday we needed to kill some time as we had a few hours between a dress rehearsal and a rehearsal dinner. We decided to go to a movie and didn’t have to many choices that fit out schedule, well really just one; Accepted. It lookd interesting so we checked it out. Much to our surprise, not only was it entertaining, but it was very funny and a great movie.

It’s about a bunch of kids that get rejected by colleges so, in order to make their parents feel better, they make up a college. It works too, until they accidently give accepted letters to all the local rejects. Then, they have a school to run; The South Haven Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T).
