With iTunes 4.8 we are one step closer to the iTunes Video Store.

One blog points out that Apple’s iTunes Music store now appears to offer the ability to sell videos as well as songs. This takes advantage of iTunes 4.8 new features allowing it to manage and play video files.

Several readers note that the latest version of iTunes supports video playback — which is a new feature in iTunes. Obviously, users are speculating about long-running thoughts of a video version of the iTunes Music Store and Video capable iPods.

Is Dreamworks becoming like Disney; sequel happy?! I doubt it. The simple fact is that Shrek is popular and the momentum is still there. Hopefully it’ll sick as Shrek 3 isn’t due out until 2007. All the main characters will be back and voiced by the original people. That’s a key part. Who wants to hear Donkey by someone other than Eddie Murphy? There are also new characters like Artie, a teenage King Arthur, voiced by Justin Timberlake. Not sure the whole idea behind this one yet, but we’ve got a few years to wait for Shrek 3.

The Muppets are back in a new TV movie. The Muppets Wizard of Oz will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival before airing on ABC Friday, May 20, 2005 at 8:00 pm EST . The whole Muppet gang will be there with Fozzy as the Lion, Gonzo as the Tin Man and Kermit as the Scarecrow. I think Ms. Piggy is the wicked witch and I’m not sue what roll Pepe and Rizzo play but they may replace the dog. More details over at Muppet Central.

I had iTunes tuned into an internet radio station and what did I hear? New Sawyer Brown music! Mission Temple Fireworks Stand is the title of the song the boys are accompanied by Robert Randolph. It is a great song that was very much the Sawyer Brown style. Not sure when a CD is coming or when I’ll get my hands on the song myself, but it’s good to hear them again. Also, there is a video out! Check out Launch! and see if you can get it to work. It was down when I tried. If anyone else has more information, I’d love to hear it.

We were told to see Napoleon Dynamite as it was a great movie, so we did. Well it wasn’t. No plot, no storyline, however good/odd characters. Maybe you need to watch it drunk or high or something other than what we were. I would recommend it to others though as I think it’d be funny to put them through it. Ha ha. The saddest part is that there is a second one coming out about the brothers wedding and I may have to see it. It’s like a car accident. You know it’s bad but you still wanna see.

Well we always watch the OC on FOX and last night they included the new Star Wars trailer and they made a huge deal about it. I have to say, the Seth Cohen version was much better than the George Lucas version. The trailer was boring to me and I don’t have any desire to see it. However, if the OC would do a Star Wars spoof it’d be awesome!

The money behind the Mall of America (MOA) in Bloomington Minnesota unveiled what they hope to be phase 2 of the mall. If created, the MOA would be the largest mall in the world. Not only do they want you to come for a few days, but how about a few weeks?!

New features would include:
A Casino
Concert Hall
Ice Skating Arena
Indoor Golf Course
Public Gardens
High-End Retail (like Rodeo Drive or New York or Paris stores)
Restaurants with world class cuisine
Italian canal and gondolas
Cinema multiplex
A light rail station at the center
And 10,000 new jobs

Disney has decided to go on with Toy Story without Pixar. The sequel happy company already has a script for Toy Story 3 and probably is already working on it. I doubt it can be as good as the others seeing as they took out Pixar and Disney sequels don’t do that great. However I’m hoping it’ll be good. I really wish someone would save disney.

We watched a few movies this weekend. One was Open Water and one was the Village.

Open Water is an independent film made with no crew, no hair and makeup people and on a limited budget. Knowing that it makes the movie even better. I thought the movie was kind of slow, but pretty good. Based on a real story and I could see how it could happen. I also kind of liked the ending because it wasn’t the way it should have happened. Sad, yes, but realistic too. I give this movie a B-.

We went out to see Oceans 12 last night and I have to say it was an ok movie but not as good as the first. All the main characters were there and they even had a few more celebrities thrown in. The problem for me was to many schemes going at once. One was a cover for the next which was part of another one and they just seemd to not distinguish them very well. Could be because whoever shot the movie seemed like a recent art school grad. Meaning he did a lot of weird and annoying transitions and shots that just annoyed me after a while. Sometimes the movie just seemed to change stories without warning too. The good news is the characters were as good as ever and very likable and funny. I’d suggest this as a rental but not in theaters. B-
