YamiPod - Free Mac & PC iPod Backup Program

YamiPodWhen I decided to backup my iPod today, I found out my Life2Go application has quit production and was unable to read the music on my iPod. So I went out to MacUpdate to find another. That’s when I came across YamiPod.

YamiPod is a free application for Mac, Windows and Linux that will manage the music on your iPod. I downloaded it, exported all my songs to a DVD and am burning a backup disk as we speak. This is a great example of a free application that just works.

Flashback - 8Track & Record Player

While at the in-laws over the weekend we discovered the original boombox; an 8Track, record player and radio all in one.

We even had a couple stacks of old Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow and other older artists records. The sad part was that the needle was broken so we couldn’t even listen to anything.

Some day though we’ll be jammin’ to it. :)

Will Big & Rich Have the Most Popular Wedding Song of 2007?

It’s hard to believe that the hick hop (country and rap) duo of Big & Rich burst onto the scene just a few years ago with Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy. They’ve been rockin’ it ever since and there seems to be a surprise around each corner. What’s next? Well that perfect wedding song of course!

Lost In This Moment is the first single off their upcoming album and it captures the wedding day almost perfectly. I can see it being chosen as the ‘first dance’ song by many couples and it could quite possibly be the biggest wedding song of 2007.

So Where is Prince’s Studio and House?

Paisley Park StudioWe’ve always known that Prince is from the Minneapolis area. More specifically Chanhassen. But where exactly?

This conversation was sparked by the Superbowl performance. After watching the half time show, the questions popped back into our heads. Since we live in the same general area, I want to know.

So I headed off to Google do do a few searches and found out.

Apple iPhone/PDA/iPod - Wow

The announcement today of the Apple iPhone is amazing. The little device that can do phone, music, videos, tv and so much more blows me away. All this with no buttons, just a touch screen. It’s basically like a Mac Nano. It’s almost perfect. The main, and killer, downside is that it’s Cingular only. I’m not switching to them anytime soon and I really wish they could have partnered with Verison or a few cell companies.

Target Giving Away iTunes Songs

On our weekly trip to SuperTarget today we noticed that two packs of General Mills cereal now come with two free iTunes songs. Not only that, plus you get a coupon for a $1 off a $15 iTunes card. Now that’s a decent deal. Especially since we always buy cereal. :)

Jammin’ on my Bose SoundDock

Christmas was good to me and this year as I got a Bose SoundDock!

After I worked out a few issues with my iPod, it now works great and I love it. I’m all for filling the house with my music and the SoundDock is great as it also charges my iPod. :D

Other cool gifts included a new watch, the Muppet Show season one, Shaun of the Dead and iTunes gift cards to name a few!

My wife also got a cool iPod accessory, but I’m waiting for her to post about that.

Deck The Halls - Christmas Video

I’ve stated time and time again that SheDaisy’s Christmas album, Brand New Year, is one of my favorites. Here is the first (and only?) video released from that holiday album. It includes Mickey and some of the Disney gang along with lots of holiday fun!

Completely Non Offensive Politically Correct Holiday Song

Christmas AlbumWith all this debate over Christmas vs Holiday, some of us think it’s gone a bit to far. And what better way to express that than through song.

Brad Paisley and the Kung Pao Buckaroos are serving up a holiday song where they are trying to sing completely non offensive and politically correct holiday songs. However, their luck isn’t so good. In fact, I think it’s the first Christmas song I’ve heard that bleeps out words, and it’s not swear words.

Here is a quick rundown:

  • Can’t say Christmas, have to say Holiday.
  • Can’t say white, have to say Caucasian.
