Muppets: A Green and Red Christmas

It’s that time of year again, the holidays!! I did a quick browse in iTunes the other day and saw a new Muppets Christmas CD. A Red and Green Christmas was just released this year and includes music song sung by Rowlf, Sweedish Chef, Pepe, Miss Piggy, Kermit, Gonzo, Rizzo, Animal and other Muppet characters.

It’s a must download for any Muppet fan. :)

Sugarland : Enjoy the Ride

Sugarland - Enjoy the RideThe much anticipated (at least by me) new Sugarland album was released this week and it’s great. Unlike other artists, they still have all the magic the with the second album as they did with the first. Heck, I still really enjoy the first album. From energetic songs to powerful ballads, Enjoy the Ride is well worth the download (or in store purchase if you’re into that).

If you purchase from iTunes, you get two videos and the digital booklet too. :)

Video Spotlight: The Red Strokes - Garth Brooks

In today’s video spotlight I have one of my all time favorite videos. It’s The Red Strokes by Garth Brooks.

The use of paint in this video is a great effect, however it wasted a lot of materials. To shoot the video it took 5,000 gallons of paint and they went through 12 white Stetson cowboy hats, 18 full tuxes and 6 baby grand pianos.

A clip from behind the scenes even says that the first take of lowering Garth into the paint went very wrong and he was very thankful. The pain was to thick and the lowering device jammed. This was good as the paint was also cold and Garth’s body temp was dropping fast. With thinner, and warmer, paint, the second take was perfect.

Movies come with Dolby surround sound and are near DVD quality. Heck, you gotta risk something for getting them on demand and cheap. :)

VS: Daniel Powter - Bad Day

The week of August 2nd 2005, iTunes’ free single of the week was a song called Bad Day by unknown artist Daniel Powter. A few months later, American Idol shot the song to #1 by using it as the shows signature song for the 2006 season.

Before American Idol though, there was a very clever music video that includes a guy and a girl who seem to be stuck in a rut. And yes, they do hook up in the end.

Check out the video (with no American Idol references).

Redefining Craptastic

Wow, did you see Kevin Federline (KFed) at the Teen awards last night? Me either, but YouTube has it! It’s so bad it’s a must watch. It’s craptastic!

VS: Nickelback - Savin’ Me

Today’s video spotlight comes from Nickelback.  The video for the song Savin’ Me is very smart and very clever. Check it out…

Video Spotlight: Goodbye Earl

Every now and again I come across a great music video. It could be powerful, full of eye candy or just plain fun. So, I decided that with the help of the online video services, like YouTube, I’d start up a music video spotlight. It’ll showcase some of my favorite videos for one reason or another.

First off is Goodbye Earl from the Dixie Chicks. The subject of the song is serious, but it’s been played out in a fun way. Goodbye Earl has drawn a lot of controversy in the past, but it’s an all out fun song with a very smart video. The way it transitions from one scene to the next is smooth and very smart. Just remember, don’t kill your spouse, it’s illegal.
