Goodbye to The OC

OC - GoodbyeIt’s hard to believe that The OC only has two episodes left before it leaves the air. I have to admit, killing off Marissa wasn’t something I wanted to see happen. However, the writers did a fantastic job this season and it’s been one of the best.

As the episodes wind down, I realize that I still really like the show and the characters. We’ve been addicted since season one, however it’s time.

Apple Introduces iPods, Movies, Games & TV Box

Apple released more than just a few things today. Now available is iTunes 7 incorporating movie sales, games (Bejeweled, Cubis 2, Mahjong, Mini golf, pac man, tetris, texas holdem, vortex, and zuma) for the iPod and bigger TV shows; 640×480 (h264), up from 320×240.

Movies are $12.99 for new releases, preorders and first week. After that up to $14.99, however older movies go for only $9.99. It’ll take about 30 minutes at a 5mb/s broadband connection. Movies come with Dolby surround sound and are near DVD quality. Heck, you gotta risk something for getting them on demand and cheap. :)

Geico: Free Pie & Chips

I have to say, the Geico Free Pie & Chips commercial entertains me. Every time it comes on it puts a smile on my face. If I were looking for auto insurance, I’d check out Geico. ;)

Geico

Good job Geico, keep up the good ads!

I hate American Idol

What’s wrong with people?!! Chris Daughtry was supposed to win. He is the best singer left and he was voted off?!! I’m not even sure I’m want to continue watching American Idol. I don’t even know who I want to win anymore. Katharine McPhee I guess.

I’m so disappointed. We better get a Chris Daughtry CD at least.

iPod Hi-Fi Unveiled!

At Apple’s special even today they updated the Mac Mini and unveiled the iPod Hi-Fi.

The iPod Hi-Fi is not a new iPod but rather a home stereo system. Basically it’s a big set of speakers. ;) No radio or CD player (that’s so 2000) just great sound (surround sound) in a simplistic design with a built in iPod dock and remote. However for $350 I think I’ll pass for now. Maybe there is a iPod Hi-Fi mini coming out. Ha ha.

2006 Super Bowl XL Ads

You can check out all the ads from the 2006 Super Bowl (XL) at iFilm.

I didn’t catch to many, so I’ll be watching them online too.

Keep in mind, iFilm will be extremely busy for a few days so be patient.

Oh and congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers!

iTunes adds NBC SciFi and USA TV Shows

iTunes_RGB_9mm

The iTunes Music Store has added new shows for us to download. Most notably, NBC current and vintage shows. You can now download the latest Surface or go back in time and get Knight Rider or Dragnet.

There is also a couple from Sci Fi and one from USA in the mix.

Hopefully this is just a hint of what’s to come as we regularly download Lost and there are many others we’d like to see added to iTunes!

New Shows in iTunes:

Lost in iTunes

We bought last week’s episode of Lost - Everybody Hates Hugoicon from iTuens and watched it tonight. I thought it was a great deal at only $1.99. The quality was fine when it was bright out (on the show) and a little pixeley when it was dark. All in all, I’m vary happy with my commercial free, $1.99, iTunes downloaded episode of Lost - Everybody Hates Hurley.

Now, I don’t have an iPod that does video so we didn’t watch it on that. However my Powerbook has an S-Video out port. So I went S-Video to A/V cable to TV. I then went from audio out to A/V cable to TV. So we watched the episode on TV while it was playing in iTunes. Full screen of course.

By TV Shows via iTunes!

You can now purchase TV shows via !!!! For example, each episode of LOST is only $1.99. That’s cheap for the entire episode! Desperate Housewives also available! OMG That’s Cool!!!!!! :D

A New Day for Disney

Today begins a new day at Disney. Robert Iger takes over for Michael Eisner as CEO. Michael Eisner has been under great criticism for the way he has dealt with the company in the past years. From sequels to over promotion and the end of hand drawn cartoon movies, I think that Eisner was focused on all the wrong areas. Hopefully Robert Iger can take Disney back to the days when the latest Disney (not Disney & Pixar) movie was the hottest thing in town.

Good Luck Robert Iger :)
