Have you heard about Idol Gives Back?  More than likely you have.  Have you donated?  The money goes to help kids in our country and others have a better life.  Helping them out with things like books, safe places to live & play and medication.

It’s easy to give back.  You can donate online, by mail or by phone.  Details on the American Idol website.

You can also just open iTunes, click on the Idol Gives Back banner and purchase some music.  Songs from Snoop Dogg, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Heart and more are available.  That’s a pretty simple way to donate.

I’ve never quite understood why people just leave a list of links to other sites, but now I do. Here is some news that I don’t have time to write about, but wanted to share.

A new preview version of Flock, based on Firefox 2, is out with many additional features. Note, it didn’t import all my previous bookmarks.

Seamonkey 1.1 is also out. It’s also based off Firefox 2 and Thunderbird 2 too. However, from the comments on Seamonkey 1.1, the real good stuff won’t appear until 1.5.

While surfing though iTunes this morning I came across the just released Chris Daughtry album. The American Idol contestant is the second (?) artist from the 2006 season to have an album out. I just downloaded it and am listening to it now.

The week of August 2nd 2005, iTunes’ free single of the week was a song called Bad Day by unknown artist Daniel Powter. A few months later, American Idol shot the song to #1 by using it as the shows signature song for the 2006 season.

Before American Idol though, there was a very clever music video that includes a guy and a girl who seem to be stuck in a rut. And yes, they do hook up in the end.

On Friday September 8th, 2006 American Idol is coming to Minneapolis’s Target Center! Get your voice in gear and then get a place in line!

If you can’t wait that long, you can get a guaranteed audition by visiting the Brookdale center on August 5th and 12th. There whey will be doing auditions and awarding passes that will make sure American Idol hears you.

I’m not sure what kind of zoo all the crazed wanna-be’s will make, but I’m sure it will be fun!

Well Taylor Hicks did it. The guy who looked 40 and acted 18 won American Idol. But what kind of album will he make? Can he succeed on the radio?

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good guy who is talented, but I’m having a hard time seeing him being truly successful. Taylor wasn’t my first, second or third choice but I guess I was out-voted.

The good news is that Katharine McPhee (aka Kat) will most likely get an album too. Hopefully Chris Daughty and Elliott Yamin will also.

Skype has announced that, until the end of the year, you can use Skype to any phone in the US or Canada for free! I tried it with my cell and it worked, but I didn’t talk to myself. But it also didn’t charge me or ask for money. Sweet!

This means that tomorrow night, we can vote for American Idol over and over and over again and not worry about that cell phone bill. Ha ha.

I can also call anyone, anywhere, anytime. Skype to wireless. Skype to land lines. Skype to Skype.

What’s wrong with people?!! Chris Daughtry was supposed to win. He is the best singer left and he was voted off?!! I’m not even sure I’m want to continue watching American Idol. I don’t even know who I want to win anymore. Katharine McPhee I guess.

I’m so disappointed. We better get a Chris Daughtry CD at least.
