We’re all having more fun for Halloween this year as Lily is 2. She has a better understating of what’s going on and has been practicing her Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat.

Costume Sneak Peek

This year she’ll be going as a pink cat. It’s a warmer costume which is nice but also has quite the big belly. Trying to get her into the car seat in it sure was a lot of work.

Cleaning Out Pumpkins

Lily also helped clean out some of the pumpkins this year. She wasn’t so sure about it, but eventually stuck her hand right in.

Tonight we’re going to the grocery store for indoor trick or treating and then around the neighborhood. After that we’ll be handing out candy at the door and having some Halloween fun.

Then, after she goes to bed, Dad is taking most of the candy and hiding it away. Halloween is a lot of fun, but Lily doesn’t need a whole pumpkin full of candy.

No matter what you’re doing, or how you do it, I hope this Christmas puts a smile on your face and warms your heart.

We are having a great Christmas already with Lily taking on everything from baking Christmas cookies to saying Ho Ho Ho.

I’m sure that come Christmas morning, she’ll be more than happy to rip open her presents and play with the packaging. Ohh and possibly the toys too!

I’m hoping to get iLife 11 as it’ll be a nice upgrade from my iLife 08. I’d like iWork 11 as well, but that’s not out just yet.

I’m also hoping Santa brings me an Apple iPad case. I love my iPad but lack a decent case.

And maybe a set of composite AV cables. I hear good things about people being able to project videos and photos on the TV and I’m thinking maybe I’d like to do that.

A BlueTooth keyboard would be kind of nice for it too, but I’m afraid a second device would seem a little awkward. Especially since I use my iPad on the couch most of the time. Plus I’m decent at typing on the virtual keyboard.

iTunes gift cards are always welcome. You can never have too much money banked in the iTunes Store.

I thought about a Magic Trackpad, but I have a Magic Mouse so I’m not sure I need one. Haven’t tried one though either. Maybe they are wicked cool. The reviews seem to be extremely positive.

The Apple TV looks sweet at the $99 price range but I’m worried it’d feel limited. I don’t buy or rent shows from iTunes, but we do watch a lot of Hulu and Netflix. With the Wii running Netflix, I’m just not sure I need an Apple TV.

What would be ideal, in my mind, would be a Mac Mini to use as a media center. It can do pretty much everything, but it’s not cheap.

Those are a few things that I’m hoping Mac Santa brings me. What are you hoping for?

The problem with New Year’s resolutions is people dive right into them and go full force only to find out it’s hard work.

Instead you should set smaller goals for yourself in order to build up to your final goal.

Lets take exercising as an example. A lot of people will sign up for gym memberships and go every day for a week or two and then they’ll give up because it’s hard.

Instead of starting off exercising every day, pick one day a week. Lets say we exercise every Tuesday in January. That’s it. 4 times for the first month. Then in February, lets go every Tuesday and Thursday. Gradually we’ll work up to 5 days a week. Since we took smaller steps to get there, it’ll seem more obtainable and easier to stay on track.

Maybe your resolution is to save money by not buying Starbucks everyday. I’m pretty sure most coffee addicts would freak out if they stopped cold turkey. Instead, cut back gradually.

Setting smaller goals will make them easier to obtain and easier to achieve the overall goal.

Who says your New Year’s resolution needs to be achieved in January? Why don’t you take a few months to work up to it and actually meet it this year.

I know that this year is special for Christi and I as it’s Lily’s first Christmas. I think she has more gifts than the wife and I combined and it’ll be exciting come Christmas morning. Granted she won’t know what’s going on, but we’ll enjoy it for her!

As I look back on the year it’s hard to believe all that has happened. A baby changes a lot, and even though people tried to tell me, I don’t think it’s something you can tell a person. Lily is wonderful, Christi is fantastic and I’m thankful to have both in my life.
