Happy Halloween

We’re all having more fun for Halloween this year as Lily is 2. She has a better understating of what’s going on and has been practicing her Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat.

Costume Sneak Peek
This year she’ll be going as a pink cat. It’s a warmer costume which is nice but also has quite the big belly. Trying to get her into the car seat in it sure was a lot of work.

Cleaning Out Pumpkins
Lily also helped clean out some of the pumpkins this year. She wasn’t so sure about it, but eventually stuck her hand right in.
Cupcakes, Cows, Presents & Water
Our little girl is now two years old! What better way to celebrate than with two parties and doing all the fun things she loves to do.
It started out with Uncle Josh visiting on her birthday. That’s pretty special as he was in from California. Josh gave her some plastic food so she could feed her dolls and pretend she was cooking like Mom.
Then she had the weekend with just Mom and Dad. She got plastic plates, bowls and cups to go with her plastic food and she loves to play with them. She also got some Elmo things and other fun toys. Plus we had ice cream cookie sandwiches!
Parades are so much fun when you’re a kid.
Lily went to her first parade over the weekend and I think it was almost more than she could take in, but she enjoyed it.

From the horses to the floats to the candy, there was always something to look at and something to do.
When floats played music, we danced. When there was something being handed out, we wanted it. When the big vehicles honked their horns or backfired, we ran into daddy’s arms for safety.
Spoiling Lily and getting great deals.
When you have a kid, you realize how expensive they can be. However, with a little bit of looking, you can find great deals.
Lily loves to swing, so we looked at getting her a swing for the back yard. We went back and forth on the decision until we found the one we wanted on the clearance shelf at Target. It was such a good deal that we couldn’t pass it up.

Indoor picnic turns into a food fight.
Since it was so hot out, we decided to have a picnic inside. I laid down a blanket and we brought out chips, drinks and sandwiches.
Within 5 minutes Lily picked up a bag of chips and dumped them all over. Then we had to pick them all up; well most of them up. And of course eat some along the way.
Then she grabbed a bag of kettle corn and turned it upside down. It didn’t all fall out, so she shook the bag and swung it around until it was empty.
We now have a water garden.

Thanks to all the rain, we now have a water garden. However Lily doesn’t seem to mind.
First day of swim lessons.
Yesterday was Lily’s first day of swim lessons and she had quite a bit of fun.

Safari Island
These parent & toddler swim lessons are to get the little ones use to the water.
We got there a little early and Lily headed right into the water to play. She has no issues with the water, but she does try to go and do just as she does out of the water not realizing that it’s different.
Lily loves the water this year.
Last year Lily wanted little to do with the water when we were at the beach in San Diego. Over the weekend we visited Lake Ann Park in Chanhassen and this time she had no issues when it came to water.
At first we thought she’d freak out because her socks go wet, but it didn’t faze her. Then we got her to take them off and go barefoot and once again, she didn’t care.
She ran up and down the beach, played in the sand and even laughed it off when she nearly fell face first into the water.
