Then there was Scream 2 and Scream 3. Each move a not quite as good as the one before it but at least the characters stayed the same and they all follow the same basic storyline.

And now there is Scream 4; or Scre4m.

Once again the movie isn’t that great, but it’s Scream. Yea the acting is cheesy and the plot is basically the same but at least all the main characters, or more importantly actors, are there.

One of the best parts of the movie is how it makes fun of itself. From the characters to the plot, there are plenty of cheap shots. They even work in a scene that includes Facebook and Twitter. How progressive.

If you grew up with the originals, then this is a must see. For $0.99 at Redbox, you can’t go wrong. Just keep your expectations low.

Battle for LA

I like a good action movie, but this was a bit over done. Where was my story?

Shoot. Kill. Repeat. That’s pretty much what it was.

And why do aliens, who can build spaceships and other cool stuff, always have one week spot that we can find and hit every time with a basic machine gun?

The wife and I don’t get to go out to movies much anymore since we have a little one. Actually, we didn’t go to that many before either, basically because they are expensive and usually not that good.

Over the weekend however, we did get to go out to a movie and saw Unstoppable. And it was a great movie.

It’s a story of a run away train and it’s done in a way that keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time. There’s no distracting side stories, no overdone actions scenes, just a damn good movie.

If you’re looking for something good to watch, Christi & I highly recommend Unstoppable.

We did really enjoy Spiderman 1 & 2 and were excited for the 3rd. Maybe we over hyped it for ourselves, but it sure fell short of expectations.

If you really want to see it, go. But if you aren’t sure, wait for the video. It’s not worth the high price of admission in my opinion.

It’s a based on a true story where one teacher tries to unite students that are from different gangs and yet all lead the same life. She works with them to let them know that their lives aren’t anything new and help teach them what history has taught us. She fights the school system and against the prejudices that exist. It’s inspiring and I hope it’s more fact than fiction.

The iTV was announced too. Coming in Feburary it wirelessly transmists music, movies, tv shows and more to your TV. I like this product and will consider getting one. At $299 it’s a bit pricy, but lets wait and see all the official details. Jam packed with all that HD stuff though, it’s probably a steal.

The Keynote is still going on and no speak of 10.5 yet. I’m sure it’s coming though.

After I worked out a few issues with my iPod, it now works great and I love it. I’m all for filling the house with my music and the SoundDock is great as it also charges my iPod.

Other cool gifts included a new watch, the Muppet Show season one, Shaun of the Dead and iTunes gift cards to name a few!

My wife also got a cool iPod accessory, but I’m waiting for her to post about that.

Netflix has been around for quite a while and I hear mostly good stuff. Most people I know that do the movie rental services though the mail are doing Netflix. However, Blockbuster seems a few dollars cheaper and give you a free in store coupon.

What have you used or do you recommend? Good bad or ugly, we’d like to know.

I think that all the bad reviews got our hopes down and when you go into a movie not expecting much, it turns out to be better than you expected.

It was funny and worth our rent. It wasn’t overly crude either even though there are a lot of fart jokes in it. It also reminded me a lot of my family. That’s a good thing.

Just because rednecks don’t like sushi or drive a nice car, doesn’t mean they aren’t great people. And the inside of the Larry-mobile, well lets just say I’ve been in those kinds of vehicles many times.

I’d say it’s worth the rent if you like any of the comedy by Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy or Bill Engvall. Heck, I may even give it for a Christmas present.

Disney is re-releasing the movie in select theaters across the country on October 20th 2007. I haven’t found out where it’s playing in Minneapolis yet, but, if it is, I’ll be there!

If you haven’t seen the Nightmare Before Christmas it’s a claymation movie where Jack Skellington, the Halloween King, discovers Christmas and tries to take over Santa’s job. However, it’s a disaster.

Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all time favorite movies and I’m very excited to see the 3D version. To get the party started a little early, I created a few desktop wallpapers from the movie poster.

Movies are $12.99 for new releases, preorders and first week. After that up to $14.99, however older movies go for only $9.99. It’ll take about 30 minutes at a 5mb/s broadband connection. Movies come with Dolby surround sound and are near DVD quality. Heck, you gotta risk something for getting them on demand and cheap.

They also introduced new iPods. Nano is now aluminum and in green, silver, black, blue, and pink. Regular sized iPods are now bigger in size too. $249 and $349 will get you 60GB and 80GB capacity.

iTV (working title) is kind of like the MacMini only 1/2 the size and targeted more at the media (movies, music and TV) than a complete computer system. It’ll be wireless and arrives in 2007. I for one, can’t wait!

It’s about a bunch of kids that get rejected by colleges so, in order to make their parents feel better, they make up a college. It works too, until they accidently give accepted letters to all the local rejects. Then, they have a school to run; The South Haven Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T).

The movie was very funny at times and the cast was great. We were pleasantly surprised and had a great time. It’s one of the first movies we’ve seen in the theaters in a long time that hasn’t left us dissipated for spending the money.
