Lots of Lily videos uploaded.
I finally went though my videos and uploaded 11 videos to YouTube. Some are from the past couple weeks, others may be a few months old.
Here are a few of my favorite:
Feeding cows on grandpa’s farm
Lily’s 2nd Birthday
Lily dancing with Lily
Cupcakes, Cows, Presents & Water
Our little girl is now two years old! What better way to celebrate than with two parties and doing all the fun things she loves to do.
It started out with Uncle Josh visiting on her birthday. That’s pretty special as he was in from California. Josh gave her some plastic food so she could feed her dolls and pretend she was cooking like Mom.
Then she had the weekend with just Mom and Dad. She got plastic plates, bowls and cups to go with her plastic food and she loves to play with them. She also got some Elmo things and other fun toys. Plus we had ice cream cookie sandwiches!
My parents should be so proud of me because I’m addicted to the internet, not drugs.

Dear Mom and Dad and the D.A.R.E. people,
I listened. I’m not addicted to drugs, instead I’m addicted to the internet.
I’m not wasting all my money on meth and crack and things like that. Though I do spend money on hosting, Flickr Pro, online backup and Amazon. Not to mention all the apps and music I get from iTunes. But that’s not the point, I’m being good.
I don’t go around, stealing things just to get a fix. Wait, that’s not exactly true. I have been known to “borrow” the internet from the library across the street when mine goes out just to send an email. And I do know where to find free internet if I need it. Again, not the point.
How to get free passes to the MN Zoo and other great places.

Zoo Goats
Did you know that some Minnesota libraries have free passes to all sorts of MN destinations?
We were lucky enough to get our hands on a MN Zoo pass last week and the whole family got into to the zoo for free!
We got to feed the baby goats, see the fish, lions and all sorts of other animals. Lily had a great time not only with the animals but also watching all the other kids.
The program is called the Museum Adventure Pass and they can get you into:
- The American Swedish Institute
Twin Cities Twitter weather alerts are working again.
Good news for all the people following one of the Twin Cities Twitter weather alerts accounts as they are once again working.
They worked great over the winter, then suddenly stopped this spring. Turns out weather.gov updated the RSS feeds. In doing so, they dropped the old ones without telling us.
Unfortunately the weekend gave us more than enough severe weather to test the Twitter accounts and the alerts appear to be working fine again.
If you want to get updates on severe weather watches and warnings on Twitter, then follow one of my weather accounts or create your own for where you live.
Alligators, giraffes, food and a good vacation.

Our vacation to Bonita Springs, Florida was a lot of fun. We got to hold an alligator, ride on air boats through the Everglades, feed a giraffe and we had more than enough food and drinks.
While there was a threat of snow in Minnesota, we were relaxing by the pool in the upper 80s. Instead of cereal for breakfast, we had a breakfast buffet. Every dinner had multiple courses and the bar was always open. We were pretty much spoiled from the time we arrived.
It was nice to get away, just me and the wife, and it’s amazing that my wife won this trip for being a stellar employee!
Life on just the iPad doesn’t work for me.
Well I made it though a week without my iMac. How did I do? Well…. not so good.
I was doing fine for a few days. Granted it helped that Lily was sick and I had to sleep with her a few nights and that took away from my computer time.
However I found it difficult to live just on the iPad.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the iPad and think it’s a great machine. But it lacks advanced controls that you get on your computer and multitasking is pretty much non-existent.
Feeding The Cows
When we were down on Grandpa and Grandma’s farm, we got to feed the cows. Lily tried, but would rather keep the grass to herself.
Letting them cry themselves to sleep really works?!

Sleepy Kitten
There is a lot of advice that comes and goes. Some is easy to do while others sounds like the worst thing ever.
Like when we were told to lay Lily down and just let herself cry herself to sleep. If we did this, she’d eventually allow us to put her to bed, while awake, and she’d just lie down and go to sleep.
First off, that’s to good to believe. We’ve spent a year rocking her to sleep and taking anywhere from 30 minuets to 2 hours fighting with her to get to sleep. Now you’re telling me we can just put her down, walk away and all will be good?
10 Things I learned while traveling with a baby.
Last week was our first big vacation as a family. We packed everything up and flew out to San Diego; which is about a 4 hour flight.
Here are a few things I learned while traveling with a baby.
- If you can, travel with your spouse. I couldn’t imagine having done this trip alone. From getting through security to entertaining the baby, having two people is better than one. If you can, travel with a third person too. We had one grandma come with us and the three to one ratio worked out well.
