Box.net has a great promotion going on for iOS users. If you create a new account, or use an existing free account, login via the iPad or iPhone app and you’ll automatically score 50GB of space for life.

The downside with Box.net is that it doesn’t have desktop syncing like DropBox does. However, you can mount your Box.net account on your desktop and manage all your files. It’s not the speediest, but it works.

Mount Box.net on your Desktop

Box.net is an online storage site that gives you five free gigs of space to do with what you please. However, Uneasy Silence has figured out how to connect to Box.net via the Mac Finder. Thus allowing you to have a free, mountable 5 Gig online storage account.

It’s quite easy, just follow these steps.

1) Get a box.net account.
2) In the Mac Finder select the GO menu then choose Connect to Server (Or Command-K).
3) Put in the address: https://www.box.net/dav
4) When it prompts, put in your Box.net username as your name and your Box.net password in the password field.
