Make Firefox Pink for October
Have you heard of the Pink for October campaign? What they ask is that people modify their sites, aviators or whatever they can to add a bit of pink and spread breast cancer awareness. You may have already noticed this and just didn’t realize why things were changing to pink.
PinkHope is a perfect match for Pink for October. The Firefox theme is bright pink and integrates well in to the campaign. PinkHope has also recently been added to the official Pink for October downloads page.
What do you think? Are you going pink for October?
PinkHope Available For Firefox 3
I’m working ever so hard to get every theme updated for Firefox 3 and now I have another. PinkHope is ready to go!
Like the others, the entire theme was re-coded and some elements may be different. I don’t aim to make an exact duplicate of the Firefox 2 version, but rather an upgrade.
For those that don’t know, PinkHope is a bright pink theme that takes aim at creating awareness for breast cancer fighters, survivors and supporters. It’s also great for anyone who likes pink.
I put the pink in PinkHope
PinkHope, a breast cancer awareness theme, has been completely re-vamped and released as version 1.0. The new version goes pink big time.
I’ve been talking about making PinkHope into it’s own unique theme for a while now and I finally did it. It now sports a pink background behind the tool, address, status and tab bars. Even the background of the address and search bars is now pink.
For some, this may be a bit of a shock, but I really wanted to go big and go pink with PinkHope. I wanted something that stood out and could be seen and noticed on your computer with just a passing glance.
PinkHope Updates
In the first theme update of the month, PinkHope now supports a pink progress bar. Really, I should have caught that in the beginning. ![]()
It also gets a bit of Fission (extension) support. It’s not great, but better. AddBlockPlus issues are hopefully fixed and it adds support for the New Tab Button on Tab Bar extension.
PinkHope 0.7 – Firefox Theme
PinkHope 0.7 was quietly updated last night and will soon be live at Mozilla’s official addon site.
New in this version is some great icons from Ken Saunders. He put a lot of work into them and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Not all are complete yet, but for the most part, it’s looking good.
Other updates include pink folders and fixing the color on random items like the feed screen.
iPox Goes Pink for Breast Cancer
The other day I got an email from Angel_Wings2000 who nicely asked me to create a breast cancer theme. So last night I created PinkHope.

Whenever I think of breast cancer I think of lots of pink and white. So I thought iPox was a good starting point. I took a few hours and I converted iPox from blue to pink.
PinkHope includes a Breast Cancer ribbon for the inactive loading icon and the throbber is a beating heart. Also includes pink scrollbars, bookmark bar, window background and icons. I don’t think it’s overly pink, but some might. ![]()
