Use iPhone Applications in Firefox’s Sidebar
With the release of the iPhone, many software companies are releasing iPhone versions of their applications. Even though you might not have an iPhone, there is still a chance that you can use them with Firefox’s sidebar.

Firefox’s sidebar is and odd place to load a web page, however if you manage your bookmarks, there will be an option to load any bookmark in your sidebar. The good news is that some iPhone applications can load and work in Firefox’s sidebar!
Technorati and Portal Chicklets
I’ve updated the Chicklet Creator with new buttons today. Now included are Technorati (add to favorites), Protopage, Pageflakes and Netvibes. I may have another new button in the works, but feel free to share any services that I’m missing.
I’ve also updated the Yahoo, Rojo, Newsgator and Pluck images to come directly from those services, not from my site. This will help out with my bandwidth some. The new buttons are also located on their respected sites. I’m just trying to save the pennies.
As always, if you find issues let me know. I can’t fix what I don’t know about. ![]()
Netvibes – A Great Web Portal
Last week I did a short review on web portals. Granted, I did forget Pagefakes which appears to be very cool. It has a full array of widgets along with most of the functionality I wanted, however it lacks POP/IMAP email integration. But it’s coming…. soon or so they say.
However, a few days ago Netbives upgraded a few elements and my POP email passwords are now saved! That was my biggest gripe. So, for now, they are my portal of choice. They look professional, access Gmail, IMAP and POP email, works great with Flickr, has some great calendar functionality (just added) and they have tabs with icons!!
Cool Web Portals
I’ve recently began researching web portals. I haven’t been a big fan of them in the past, but I’ve started to get back into them a little more. It’s just nice haveing a one stop site to get the latest news via RSS, email, the weather and photos. So I decided to see what was out there. I tried five different services including:
What I’ve come to figure out is that two stand above the rest. Netvibes and Protopage are my top picks, but I haven’t been able to pick just one.
