Themepark News & Information from Minnesota
Ever wanted to ride ValleyFair’s roller coaster from the comfort of your home? Now you can. Just watch this vide, full screen, and it’ll seem like you’re in the front seat!
Another, smoother, view can be seen here. It’s animated so you don’t get as many nice background graphics, but it’s fun as well.
Note: If it starts playing at the beginning, skip to 01m 42s.
There’s something about the thrill of a roller coaster that drives people to find faster, bigger, better coasters. Some race along at 90mph while others catapult you high into the sky.
From the alluring colors, to the roaring steal and the negative Gs, roller coasters are nothing but pure fun, wrapped in a hint of fear.
And sometimes, just the picture of a great coaster can exhilarate you.

Have you had a chance to make it out to VallyFair yet this year? Are you planning to?
ValleyFair is Minnesota’s best summer destination. From water parks to roller coasters, there’s definitely something for everyone.
I’m not sure on my summer plans just yet, but I’d love to spend a day on the rides and in the sun!
Now this looks like my type of commute. Hop on a roller coaster and enjoy that ride to work!
Also, here is the behind the scenes making of the commercial. Pretty cool to watch how they got a roller coaster in NYC.
This is a great view, straight down, from the top of the Power Tower.
Now having the ability to have a camera out, snap a shot, and not loose the camera is talent.
Valleyfair is currntly running ValleyScare where they turn the park in to a giant haunted house basically. During the day it’s fun and kid frienly, at night, it’s for adults and aimed to scare you to death.
What I don’t get is why? Why do themeparks love to do this? Parks all around the country do the same thing. And it happens year after year.
Do people just love being scared that much? I guess. Personally I’m staying home, but am intrigued at how scary it really is and why others like it.
Have you been to a haunted theme park? What did you think?
I think it’s hard to compare ValleyFair and Nickelodeon Universe as they are two completely different parks with different visitors. But lets give it a go.
What other comparisons do you have?
Post inspired by ValleyFair VS. Nickelodeon Universe at the Science Buzz.
Rumors are starting to swirl about a new coaster in 2010 for Valleyfair. The rumors are just that for now as there is no concrete evidence or plans in place. A park visitor did mention that he saw what looked like coaster tools and clearing.
…while riding Renegade, after the first drop on the Buckel, I noticed some tools that might be for constructing a rollercoaster. As I looked around the park, I saw a little bit of a clearing by renegade. I noticed this on PowerTower/Wild Thing/Excalibur/Steel Venom. via sscoasters.net
Others agree that there are rumors, but not much traction with them yet. We’ll have to wait and see what 2010 brings for Valleyfair!
What a sweet photo. Not only of the Steel Venom ride, but also the coloring which almost makes it look a bit retro.
On Tuesday, June 23rd you’ll be able to show off your Rock Band skills when Valleyfair hosts the Pepsi Rock Band stage!
Performers, fans and groupies can head over to the Amphitheater Plaza between noon and 6pm to either preform for the crowd or enjoy the free concerts.
This is a free event for all Valleyfair visitors and is open to rockers of all ages!
