Minnesota Wedding Information
Reception Site, Dj, Photographer

We started planning our wedding with less than a years time. We decided to get married in Spring Valley Minnesota, which is just south of Rochester Minnesota. We had a lot of work to do as we live in the Minneapolis Minnesota area and were planning from here and traveling there a lot.

We looked at many reception and dance halls once we picked a wedding date and church. There are many places in South East Minnesota to have your wedding reception/dance. From hotels, elks clubs, eagles clubs, golf courses, town halls, and event centers just to name a few.

We ended up getting our reception and wedding dance hall reserved at the Holiday Inn South in Rochester Minnesota. It was a great place to have it as the guests could stay at the hotel with no extra travel. There was also a bar two doors down, inside the hotel, that guests could walk to if they wanted something that wasn't offered.

We also had to pick a Wedding Dj. There are so many choices out there for that and so many prices. One thing to look at is the amount of time they offer and their personality. We found our Dj at a wedding expo in Rochester Minnesota. We checked out a few wedding shows and found the one close to home the most useful. However they all had great ideas! Our Dj was Dennis McDonough from Excalibur Sound & Light in Rochester Minnesota. And he was awesome! Everyone enjoyed themselves. From kids to grandparents. One of the best around!

Wedding Photographer was also a big decision. Again there are many many choices but time was a big thing to us. Most were only so many hours that they wouldn't make it to the reception without adding more time in. That was because of the break between the wedding and the reception. However Chris Thompson was available all day and had a very competitive price. He also shot unlimited photos and we got all the proofs! Our pictures turned out great too. It's amazing to see some of the pictures of me, the groom, and the bride and how amazing we look!
