Things For a New Year – Change, Update, Design

I’m not big on new years resolutions. In fact I like to say that years ago my resolution was to give up resolutions.  So to keep that one, I can’t make new ones. 🙂

2009

However, there are a few things that I have on my to-do list for 2009.  No biggies, but that’s ok.

  1. Change my social media icon to include my mug shot.
On Twitter, Plurk, Gravatar and whatever other networks I have I’m actually going to put up a picture of me. As soon as I find one I like that is.
  2. Update my default password to something new and more secure.
Lets face it, we all have a default password that gets used on lots of sites.  Mine isn’t that difficult and it’s time for it to be upgraded across all my accounts. This will take some time, but I’ll do them as I come across them. I do have a plan.
  3. New site design.
I’ve been working on a new design for TwisterMc.com for a while now. The main parts are done, but there are so many details that need to be worked out, pages to be created, and testing to be done.
  4. Stay Backed Up
It’s easy to stay backed up with Apple’s Time Machine, but if my house starts on fire, my backups go up in smoke with my iMac.  So I recently signed up for BackBlaze and so far, I’m liking it.   I hope it continues to impress.
  5. 5 push-ups a day.
I don’t work out. Heck, even Wii Fit yells at me for not weighing myself more regularly. However, my goal is to do 5 push-ups a day. I know that sounds like nothing, but if I can get in the habit of doing 5, then I can work in more or other exercises.
  6. Be the first to turn 29.1.
I’m going to try really hard to get this to catch on.  Why turn 30 when you can turn 29.1? That sounds good doesn’t it?! Who’s with me?

Whatever 2009 brings, as long as the wife and are having fun, and the cats get their attention, all will be good.

I wish you’d shared the 29.1 idea eight or so years ago! But I agree, resolutions are a bad idea. Everyone expects them to be broken, so no one really takes them seriously, anyway.

Have a great year, Thomas! I’m anxious to see what new design you’ve come up with!

Sorry to be nagging, but what about updating the themes? I know there is that Auto Complete list bug that you fixed in Nov with TinseltTown, which still hasn’t made it around with the other themes.

Yep, that’s another one of those ‘To Do’ items. It’ll get fixed with Firefox 3.1 support.
