Do you remember Hypercolor t-shirts? The clothing that changed color when touched?
Hypercolor clothing was around in the late 80s to early 90s and was quite popular. The shirts were one solid color, but when heat was applied, it changed to another color. So things like hugs or other people touching your shirt would bring out a new color.
It was a fun idea, but flawed. It seems that if you were nervous you could change the color of your shirt by sweating. You could also improperly wash the shirt rending it no longer color changing. A bit touchy if you ask me. There are quite a few times where you didn’t want your clothing changing colors but it would anyway.
Either way, Hypercolor shirts are hard to come by these days, but not impossible. Your best bet is grabbing one of eBay or looking for them at garage sales.

I used to own a shirt that had horizontal stripes and only one of the two colors changed. It lasted throughout tons of washings and still worked fine. Of course I no longer have the shirt, because I was younger then. But I loved it.

I remeber my hypercolor shirt. It was a orange shirt that would turn to a almost pink color. I was in the eighth grade and thought I was sooo cool waring that shirt. Now that I think back on a hot day me being a male in a pink shirt was probably not near as cool as I thought it was at the time, but then we do think we know it all at that age and only grow and an realize just how little we did know. I have not thought of that shirt or time in my life in a very long time, thank you for bringing back a blast from the past!!
I still have a blue long sleeve shirt. It has been hiding in the closet forever. Still changes colors too
Hey! yeah I remember those shirts. I was just thinking about them this morning and I thought may I’d see if they were still around? I think it would be cool for my kids who are getting into junior high to experience those as I did. My friends and I had alot of fun with that new fashion back then :-). Anyway sorry to see that lots complained about the flaws anyway it would be nice to see them again I’d definately buy even with a warning label ……………………….Thanks. The shirts were great memories. Even though they only said “HYPERCOLOR” back then 🙂
