WordPress TypePad Movable Type Buttons

The Chicklet Creator has the ability to create code for WordPress chicklets that pull the information directly from WordPress. No extra coding necessary and it should automatically update if you change your blog name or URL. However, there are many more blogging platforms out there than just WordPress. That’s where I need your help.

I’m able to work with WordPress so well because that’s what I use. If you use a different platform, feel free to help me build buttons that will automatically work with them. It’s quite easy, all you have to do is send me the three variables that your blogging platform uses.

  1. Title
  2. URL
  3. Feed URL

These are global variables for a blogging platform and not specific to one blog. In WordPress they are as follows.

  1. <? echo get_settings(‘home’); ?>
  2. <? bloginfo(‘name’) ?>
  3. <? bloginfo(‘rss2_url’) ?>

Send me the information for your blogging software via email (rss-at-twistermc) and I’ll see if I can’t whip up the code to make it work. I’ll then let you know so you can help me test it. 🙂

Vish, you can’t use the plugin with Typepad. You must just use the code that the Chicklet Creator outputs. Go to the Chicklet Creator, create your buttons, then copy the code into your Typepad template or in to a blog post. You may need to refer to TypePad’s help files to figure out how to edit your blog template (theme).
