iClip vs iClip Lite – Multiple Clipboards

iClipA while ago I was introduced to iClip. iClip is a multi-clipboard application that records about as many items as you want. It can save the last three or 10 or 20+ clipboard items. Seeing as I have a tendency to copy something, then copy over it before I used the first one, this is a no brainer for me. It has come in incredibly helpful and I can’t image using my computer without iClip.

Recently I started testing out iClip lite. iClip lite is the free Dashboard version of the application. It’s got a whole new design yet the same functionality. At first I was amazed that anyone would even consider paying for the regular version. But, as I soon came to find out, iClip lite is nice, iClip is better.

The downsides to the free version of iClip is that it’s on the Dashboard. Much like everything on the Dashboard, it’s out of sight, out of mind. If it were to run on the desktop, outside of Dashboard, then it’d still be missing the auto-hide feature that keeps the paid version of iClip just off to the right of the screen.

Overall, iClip light is fantastic for those that love their Dashboard. It’s looks great, has all the functionality needed and it’s free. For those that would rather have iClip out in the open, or those not on 10.4, the paid version of iClip is worth the dollars. Incredibly handy and a must have for any power users, or forgetful person. 😉

I guess I prefer iClip Lite at the moment. Just got a licence for iClip though thanks to MacZOT so I’ll give it a try. Still hard to work with it though as I’m used to Lite so much.

I’m the opposite. I think lite is hard to work with as I’m use to regular. 🙂

Thanks for the helpful review. I use the lite version and wonder what the difference was.
