Additional Books to read now that I’m done with the Twilight Series

Filed under: General — Christi at 9:01 pm on Monday, February 2, 2009

I am totally addicted to the Twilight series but now that I have read all of them I’m looking for new books to read.  I have found one series that I got addicted to but I’m almost done with that series also.  That was Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse Vampire series.  I read Blood and Chocolate which I wasn’t too impressed with as it was a very easy read but also very naughty.  I don’t mind some naughty but it was a little overboard.  I read The Mediator by Megan Cabot which was ok but it was written for a much younger audience I think. I have read Vampire Diaries, Vampire Kisses.  Neither which intrigued me quite like Twilight and Charlaine Harris.

I can’t put my finger on what I liked so much about these but they were just very well written and they sucked me in within a chapter or two.  I’m looking for suggestions and as I find more I will let you know what I think especially if I find any good books or series.

  1. Thanks for the writeup. I definitely agree with what you are saying. I have been talking about this subject a whole lot lately with my brother so hopefully this will get him to see my point of view. Fingers crossed!

  4. Can I just say how happy I am to finally find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it interesting as well as important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.

  5. I really like twilight! I could sit and watch all day long if I didn’t have school..or life to stay me from doing it! lol Wonderful Simply Wonderful!

Hey! I too loved the Twilight series and found it hard to find something comparable that I really dug into.. so, I strayed a bit and read a couple of off topic books.. like I read “The diary of Anne Boelyn”.. about a month after that I found my new addiction… The House of Night Series by P.C. and Kristin Cast. Granted the storyline can kind of bring you back to your youngers years, it does the trick and keeps me entertained :)

    Enjoy.

    Hey Christi…

I too have read and loved Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse (do you watch Tru Blood on HBO?? It’s based on those books). I would recommended this series (if you’re looking for more vampire stuff):

The Gardella Vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason

There’s a ton of books in the series. Here’s the link to the first one on Amazon.com:
