Happy New Year. Don’t Be Stupid.

Happy New Year to all!! Just remember to be smart. If you drink, don’t drive. It doesn’t take much to change a life forever. By all means we are all free to drink till we puke and have fun till we can hardly walk, but then lets get a hotel room or a cab. Happy New Year to all and I hope you have a great 2005!!!! :D

It’s 50. It’s December. It’s Minnesota!

The weather is so out of whack. Here it is late December in Minnesota and it’s 50 degrees. That temperature melted our trace of snow in no time. So far we’ve gotten 2 inches of snow and that wasn’t even all at one time. This has to be one of the worst winters in a long time. Granted we’ve had some cold cold temps but hardly any snow. :( Here’s hoping for a better winter, snowfall wise, in the next year.

Jubilee Foods is one nice grocery store!

It may have been my first time ever in a Jubilee Foods store today and was I ever amazed. I’m use to the Cub and Rainbow foods here in the Twin Cities and we prefer to shop at Super Targets sometimes but they are all lacking something. Something that Jubilee seems to have.

First off is selection. Rainbow, Cub and Jubilee are grocery stores and just that. Full of selection with more and more choices every day. Super Targets, however, carry a smaller variety of food choices. This is because they don’t have as much space dedicated to food as regular grocery stores stores.

Get a new Mac for less than an iPod?

How about walking into an Apple store and seeing a new Mac for less than the cost of the top of the line iPod? It could be possible. The idea is to take an iMac G4, chop off the head and charge half as much. Meaning a price around $500? Possibly a box that is 1.25GHz, with 256MB of RAM, a 40GB to 80GB hard drive, a Combo optical drive, USB 2.0, Firewire 400, 10/100Base-T Ethernet, a modem, and support for Airport Extreme, VGA, and DVI, packaged with Appleworks and a special version of iLife without iDVD. Course the coolest design would also accompany it. The idea would to help lure those PC users who think Macs costs to much. Granted with this new Mac box you’d have to get a monitor but you can use just about any monitor with a Mac. Including the one you are using now! These rumors come from MacRumors.com who got them from ThinkSecret.com. Will it happen? January should answer the question as that is when the next Mac Expo is.

Apple Dedicates Homepage to Help Tsunamis Survivors

Apple has taken down it’s iPod and iMac filled homepage and put up information on how we can help out the survivors of the Indian Ocean Tsunamis.

IE Actually Helped?

I was almost amazed at Internet Explorer (PC) yesterday. A new design looked great in everything except IE and I had to do some extra investigating. Well IE pointed out a few issues, like the columns were not adding up to the correct amount. So I fix them thinking this was a big help and that IE was finally doing something right! Well, as it turns out, that made things worse. Not only did it make things look bad in IE but it also made them look incorrect in Firefox and Safari. CSS and Internet Explorer just don’t go together well. I’m trying to do a three column design and sooner or later I feel I’ll have to revert to tables just to make it look good in IE. I really wish Microsoft would bring their technology up to par. Is that so much to ask?

Goodbye 80s Hello Smooth Jazz 104.1

Goodbye 80s Hello Smooth Jazz 104.1. That’s right the Twin Cities 80s station may be changing over to Jazz soon. My wife saw the sign outside the old 104.1 building just the other day. When will it be changing? Not sure, it’s still a rumor but I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened soon. A few years ago 104.1 used to be an alternative station until, out of the blue, it was all 80s. My guess is that on, or about, the first of January it’ll switch again. Only time will tell. Until then, 80s fans better get their fill.

Santa Fe Quesadilla Maker

My brother gave us a Santa Fe Quesadilla Maker for Christmas and we tried it out last night. Mmm good stuff. The best part is it’s so easy!! We made ham and cheese quesadillas and may even make them again tonight. Chicken quesadillas are on the list to make sometime too. What’s your favorite quesadilla recipe?

Best part of the quesadilla maker is that my brother had to go to Kohls to get it. He had never been there before and had no reason to ever step in the store. I mean it has no fishing gear, no guns, no camo so what’s the point? Well he did for Christi’s Christmas present and we are very thankful!

Music and Movies toped the list this Christmas

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is over already but it was a good one. Music and movies toped our receiving list. From Shania Twain Greatest Hits to Train Live and the OC Mix 2 our CD players and iPod should be fed pretty good. Our DVD player will be busy with Pirates of the Caribbean, Simpsons Gone Wild, Love Actually, Shrek 2 and more! We also got some great games, cake decorating goods and some great fixit books to name a few. Also loaded up on iTunes credit so I can be shopping for months to come!
