I once posted on a sweet lighted firewire cable I got that had blue LED lights in each end. It was pretty sweet, however each light as since burned out leaving a brown spot in their place. The bigger issue here is that I’ve started to notice how much hotter the ends of the cable are. At home, my iPod firewire cable is cool to the touch, however my lighted firewire cable is quite warm at the ends. I’ve never had any issues, but I’m afraid of what could happen. I think I’ll be throwing that one out for safety reasons, however I have no proof that there are any safety issues with it.
