Disney is teaming up with Tim Burton again and this time they are remaking Mary Poppins.

About to Begin…

Along for the ride, as always, is Jonny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

Sadly, we have to wait until the end of 2016 for the movie though.

Update! The rumors are back.

Sadly, according to the comments on Twitter, it may not be true.

    1. via Screamscape on Twitter who got it from Cartarsauce on Twitter. The comments on the original tweet don’t make it sound too promising though. I’ll update the post with the source.

          1. because Twitter isnt a viable source. Did you ever take any composition courses in college or are you just doing this because of your tech background?

          2. I posted this because I thought it was real and I’d love to see it. I didn’t spend hours researching the truth. Then again, neither does the news.

          3. doesn’t matter. The internet is THE place you have to make your journalism cred counts, because this kind of crap spreads like wildfire even IF it’s a hoax. And I really PRAY that it is: Anything from the original film would be a downgrade. Toss in Burton’s 14-year-old goth girl fantasy antics that he does with every film, get Danny Elfman and get Carter and Depp, yep, you get a hot steaming pile of shit far worse than anything George Lucas could POSSIBLY offer us.

Mary Poppins isn’t supposed to be another goth story, it’s Mary Poppins. The most in-offensive thing in the world! You can’t top the original film (and I highly doubt Carter has the vocal chops of Julie Andrews) so don’t even try and even if you CLAIM that “you are making your own thing.” It’s still Mary Poppins, it’s STILL going to get compared, and the fact remains: Burton will create SHIT out of a masterpiece. Fact. Look at Alice in Wonderland. Look at Dark Shadows. Look at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Only reason he didn’t fuck up Batman is because DC and WB were strong-arming him for the majority of it.
