It’s official. The Twin Cities when smoke free today. They passed a bill that you can’t smoke inside and it effects every place. Bars, restaurants, everything. And I’m not sure how I feel about it exactly.
On the plus side –
• I don’t have to worry about second hand smoke when at a restaurant. The smoke free section isn’t always smoke free.
• I don’t have to worry about smelling like smoke when I get out of a bar or club.
On the negative side-
• I don’t think our government should be telling business owners whither or not they can have smoking areas. It’s a little over the line if you ask me. It should be up to the business owners, not the city. Or at least have an option to pay a little more a month to let smokers smoke.
It’s brand new and I doubt it’ll last to long before someone steps in and puts a block on it. Temporarily anyways. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out.
