Sad but true. All Garth Brooks albums will now have to be bought at Wal-Mart. The two signed a multi-year deal and Wal-Mart, or Sams Club, are the only stores you’ll be able to get the CDs.
Granted, no new albums are coming out for years. He’s taking time off until his youngest is 18 so he can be a dad. However there are rumors of a new boxed set that could include some new music. You know, those ‘lost recordings’ that every one has. I don’t think they’re ever really lost, just waiting someplace safe until they are needed. 😉
The only other good side to this is that Garth is froogle when it comes to selling stuff. Concert tickets were always around $20 and t-shirt sales were kept low too. He may have worked it in the deal that his music/merchandise can only cost so much. How cool would that be? However, since it’s only available at Wal-Mart, it doesn’t count towards album sales. Or so I hear.
I guess I’ll just have to keep an eye out at the local (scary) Wal-Mart and see what turns up.

can’t wait to download it. Won’t be buying it from WalMart. It is unfortunate that this deal was made. It caused me to lose a lot of respect for Mr Brooks, and I will not be buying another of his albums so long as they are only available at WalMart.
