When I heard about Cookie Dough Oreos I knew I had to try them. However, the idea is better than the execution. They’re ok, but not nearly as good as the original.
The idea is fantastic, but there’s only so much you can do with Oreos and keep them being Oreos. Usually cookie dough is refrigerated, so if you’re expecting actual cookie dough, you’re out of luck. It’s just Oreo cream with cookie dough flavoring. They’re made with chocolatey chips too, but they’re really just tiny flakes.
Actually, I think the main issue may be the cookie. The chocolate cookie is overpowering the cookie dough creme. I wonder if they’d be better with vanilla cookies.
I will definitely eat all my Cookie Dough Oreos, but I don’t think I’d purchase them over Double Stuff Oreos. Much like the other Oreo flavors, they miss the mark. Very few Oreos are as good as the original.
Even though I’m not a huge fan, I’ll definitely be checking out the Marshmallow Crispy flavor when they come out. Maybe they’re better.
