Google, please stop randomly logging me out of Gmail!

Clippy Gmail

Why Google?! Why do you feel that logging me out of Gmail randomly is a good idea? Especially when I’m in the middle of an email.

To make it worse, you tell me you can’t save the draft but you try to automatically redirect me to the login screen which means I’m going to lose what I wrote. Who thinks this is a good idea!

Now, I’m sure there is a security reason for it, but I don’t get it. I’ve been in and using Gmail for hours and then it decides to log me out in the middle of an email. Why?

And it’s not just me, it happens to everyone without any notification.

According to Gmail, this happens for a number of reasons, but none that make sense. It’s not like I have three computers all with Gmail open at the same time and I’m logging out of one of them. I’m not sure if I ever hit the logout button.

I just want to be able to work without losing anything and without interruption. Is that too much to ask?

I’ll just add this to my list of questionable decisions that seem to plague Google products lately.
