What Happened to Ecto? The Best Mac Desktop Blogging Tool.

Do you remember Ecto? It was the most best desktop blogging tool on the Mac. It supported multiple blogs, had Flickr & Amazon integration, along with iLife and so much more. But there hasn’t been a software update in about a year and there is no news on the site. It’s been quiet, to quiet. […]

Why Do Twitter Apps On The iPhone Rock, But Are Lacking On the Desktop?

What is it about Twitter apps that are fantastic on the iPhone and lacking on the desktop? Tweetie, Twitterrific and Echofon all rock on the iPhone, but when it comes to the desktop version, they’re all lacking in the latest and greatest Twitter features. Lets start with Twitterrific, if you’ve used it, you know that […]

iPhone Apps Coming To Your Desktop?

Could iPhone apps be coming to the desktop? No really. The biggest features on the iPhone are the touch screen and the accelerometers. For years now, all Apple laptops have a touch pad, which works in the same way. They all have a motion sensor built it too, but I’m not sure if it’s as […]

Stainless – A Mac Browser With Unique Features

Sometimes I like Safari, sometimes Firefox, Camino, Chrome or one of the others. I like to try out different browsers in hopes that I’ll find that one I love. One browser I’ve started really liking is Stainless. Stainless is a Mac browser that runs off of Safari’s rendering engine, but has its own personality. Stainless […]

Add The Mac Menubar To Both Screens – Multiple Monitor Support

I hate to say it, but Windows does have one thing over Mac; and that’s the ability to have the menubar attached to the program so when you’re working with multiple monitors, the menubar is always with your application. On a Mac, the menubar stays on the main screen only. Until now. Secondbar aims to […]

AppStorm Firefox Persona

I’ve recently discovered the AppStorm network of sites. There is one for Mac, iPhone and web apps. All sites have great posts and I’ve become a fan. It doesn’t hurt that they gave away free software in December either. 😉 They also have a number of desktops on Flickr to help promote the site and […]

WCCO News Comes To The iPhone In Style

It has always amazed me how news stations can spend thousands on new sets, fancy graphics and anything to get more viewers on TV, but their website usually suck. Getting the local news on an iPhone or iPod Touch meant loading an overly busy, and usually slow, website or a very basic, and usually ugly, […]

Fix Your Fonts, Fix Your Browser Problems

For a few weeks I’ve been having strange issues with browsers on my Mac. Firefox couldn’t render Arial properly, Flock had issues rendering fonts in search results, Opera was down right unusable and Camino had issues with Gmail fonts. Safari was just fine however. I tried to Google the answer but got nothing. I thought […]

Gruml – Google Reader Desktop Application for Mac

Gruml is a desktop feed reader application that is completely integrated with Google Reader. Unlike some other programs that claim to do the same, Gruml does more than just show you your feeds. Gruml includes: Share this article. Star this article. Like this article. Mark as Unread, which also marks the item un-read in Google […]

Google Chrome Themes Are Mac Friendly

Google recently launched a theme gallery for Chrome. Much to my enjoyment, these themes are Mac friendly too and can be used with the latest development builds of Chrome. These themes can’t even begin to compare to some of the great Firefox themes, but it’s nice start.
