iPox Supports Firefox 1.0

Good news for all the Firefox users who, for whatever reason, choose to stick to Firefox 1.0.x. iPox now installs on Firefox 1.0! It has been tested (a little) and seems to work just fine.

For those of you who are on beta builds of Firefox 2.0, I have had a third party test it out and it doesn’t work well. Firefox 2.0 support will come as the browser gets to release candidate status or at least someplace closer to the final. It’s just to early to be building a theme for a browser that the Firefox team is still putting together.

Sorry, I don’t know where to report this, but there is a problem where Firefox [Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv: Gecko/20060608 Ubuntu/dapper-security Firefox/] immediatly crashes after right clicking the menu bar to the right of the menus and selecting the “Customize…” option. This has been tested and confirmed on a clean profile with no other extensions or themes.

Coming back to report no problem on Windows XP SP2 Firefox [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv: Gecko/20060508 Firefox/] + no extensions and no themes.

BTW, these were both on iPox 0.61 from

    Last one, I promise (maybe).

Confirmed on official Mozilla build of Firefox [Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv: Gecko/20060508 Firefox/] (the first one was on the Ubuntu build) + clean profile.

Sorry David. I have no idea what the problem is or how to find/fix it. 🙁 If I could fix it, I would.

Just to let you know I’m a firefox 1.0.8 user, and I don’t have any plan to upgrade just yet. iPox’s support on 1.0 is wonderful, will let you know if there’s any bugs/crashes.

I love your theme and have had no problems with it. One question though, do you plan on making a thunderbird theme to match? That would be great! Thanks!

  7. Thomas says:

Unfortunately, a Thunderbird theme is not in the works. Maybe in the future, but don’t bet on it.

Firefox 2 RC1 is going to be released in the next week and I can’t live without iPox any longer. 🙂

Do you have a time line for an update?

  9. Thomas says:

Really? If so, then I do need to get my butt in gear. 🙂
