WordPress 1.5.1

I upgraded my WordPress install and everything went smoothly as far as I can tell. Not sure what’s different or new, but I upgraded. Thanks to the new theme system, I don’t have to worry about loosing my theme or page edits. That’s a relief. If you find any bugs, let me know.

Subscription Music Stores

Yahoo just released their music store and it’s the latest in the string of subscription based services. Subscription based services that I just don’t get. Why would you pay a monthly fee to RENT songs? Even Napster states on their homepage “It is necessary to maintain a Napster subscription in order to continue access to […]

TextEdit – Possibly the Best App?

What’s the one application I probably can’t live without? Believe it or not, it’s TextEdit! TextEdit is just a basic text program that comes pre-installed with Mac OSX. It use to be called SimpleText back in OS 9 and you may think it’s only a text application, however it’s much much more. TextEdit can read […]

I’m a big fan of Mozilla Firefox and yesterday I got a few Firefox related gifts. First, my boss gave got me a Firefox mug. It’s really sweet with the Firefox name on one side and the logo on the other. Then, when I got home last night, there was a package from the Mozilla […]

The BMW of Chat Clients

Just as I was about to check out the new iChat in Mac OS 10.4, Adium 0.80 came out. Adium is a multi-service, free, incredibly customizable, instant messaging application for Mac. I didn’t think that this update would be as amazing as it is, however they continue to raise the standards of design and usability […]

Set Your Dashboard Widgets Free

If you have Mac OS 10.4 you have Dashboard and probably have one wish: Let the widgets be free! Well a new little application called Amnesty is out in beta form. It allows you to run a copy of your widgets separate from Dashboard on your desktop. I just installed it and it seems to […]

Tiger’s First Days

Now that I’ve had a day or two to play with Tiger I think it’s a great upgrade. I ended up having to do a clean install, however that was probably a blessing in disguise. Especially since I didn’t loose anything major. Overall the new OS is really nice. I’ve already seen tricks to keeping […]

Tiger – Disaster Averted

I took some time last night and checked out the important stuff and it doesn’t appear that I lost anything important. Phew. Just re-downloading my Macromedia apps and a bunch of other freeware and shareware applications. Saved mail messages, preferences and keychain passwords are all ok. So, to get to the important stuff, Tiger is […]
